När den legendariska V8:an på 350 hk lanserades 1969 var det naturligtvis i Super-utförande. Ordet SUPER kommer från engelskan och har sedan länge främst använts som ett prefix, ett sätt att förstärka ett ords betydelse till något positivt.

I engelskan använd det mer som ett adjektiv som kan översättas som ”better than usual”. Översatt till svenska finns översättningarna ”Av utmärkt kvalitet”, ”bättre än normalt”, ”mycket bra”. Något som passar in på nya Scania Super.
