Recently we laughed a fundraiser to support those who suffer from the war in Ukraine. It’s an unsystematic endeavor, and we were not sure how much money it might collect. So far we raised ~85€ and sent them to our friend, artist and political activist Kira Pushkaryova .

Kira is now in exile, avoiding legal prosecution in Russia for her affiliation with Vesna . Their response to Russia’s military invasion in Ukraine was immediate and uncompromising. As a consequence, Kira and her colleagues had to urgently leave the country to remain safe and continue their work.

Where is Gasp Magazine’s second issue?

As war in Ukraine unfolded, we postponed the release not to distract your attention from urgency. But this unprecedented political idiocy highlighted global gaps in humane and personal matters. War is never far away.

Violence is weaved into our lives, and we develop various strategies to overcome it, avoid or surrender. Overcoming, to our mind, is the only way that leads to progress. But to be capable of it one must know what evil they’re dealing with. So let’s figure it out together.

Second issue of Gasp Magazine is titled Defense and Resistance. Most of it was assembled before the war, but now it is gaining new relevance. While we compile the last parts of it, you may contribute to a collective reflection on wars that occur behind closed doors.
