Additionally 10 MA Architecture programme graduates defended their thesis: Jānis Apsītis, Betija Bondare, Harijs Melbārzdis, Aija Čepule, Aiga Daumane, Justīne Kate Hesse, Jānis Ziņģis, Kristian Ivans Hrgetičs-Vītols, Reinis Muižnieks, Jānis Zirnis.

22.04.2021 | The Riga Project encompasses various components which include: publications, student workshops, public events – installations (“Live Projects”), exhibitions and international symposium-lecture series. The program components focus on John Hejduk’s “Vladivostok“, The Riga Project | Object - Subject fabrication and public re-enactment and the Riga Masque project.

The initial stages of The Riga Project in collaboration with RISEBA FAD faculty and students have received support from Latvian Architecture Association (LAS) and financial support from VKKF and ALA-KF.

22.04.2021 | The Riga Masque project unfolding in collaboration with RISEBA FAD inspired by John Hejduk’s masque series and “Vladivostok” (The Riga Book). This project is based on John Hejduk's ideas on transparency, opacity and character, (ethos), architecture's ability to speak or to remain loudly silent.

"Hejduk perceived architecture as not only consisting of building but as something that inserts itself into a much broader human culture in a dialogue between form and character. It means that in many instances things are not what they appear to be. During the masque the identity essentially the form or the shape of the mask, amalgamate equally dynamically.......as he (Hejduk ) stated in the Berlin Masque: so completes the masque which in a way composed into a masque in our time, for as it was necessarily for the highly rational-pragmatic city of the 15th. cen. Venice to create masques, masks, masses for its time in order to function, it would appear that we of our time must create masques for our times"
