ADRA MACEDONIA expands its cooperation with University of Maastricht and its student organization MARA.
8 students/volunteers from 25-30 July with its financial support and labor helped three extremely vulnerable families in rural parts of Macedonia.
Assistance included: Procurement for Bee farming, second with Goat farming and third construction of a support wall for house improvement.
Everyone was happy with such blessed assistance from the good people of Netherlands.

АДРА МАКЕДОНИЈА ја проширува соработката со Универзитетот во Мастрихт и неговата студентска организација МАРА.
8 студенти/волонтери од 25-30 јули со својата финансиска поддршка и труд им помогнаа на три исклучително ранливи семејства во руралните делови на Македонија.
Помошта вклучуваше: Набавка за одгледување пчели, втора со одгледување кози и трета изградба на потпорен ѕид за подобрување на куќата.
Сите беа среќни со таква благословена помош од добриот народ на Холандија.

Today we delivered the first batch of bee colonies to our beneficiaries from the project "Women beekeepers as drivers for positive change in Macedonia". funded by the Ministry of Foreign and European affairs of Slovenia, 2023-2025.

Sponsored by the Slovenian Embassy, ADRA Macedonia organized a public celebration of the World Bee Day 2024 - May 20 on the theme: "Youth engaged in the protection of bees"

The theme of World Bee Day 2024, "Youth Engaged in Bee Conservation", highlights the importance of involving young people in activities to promote bees and beekeeping, and in general, in pollinator conservation, recognizing them as the future guardians of our wildlife. environment. At the same time, it highlights the global need for cooperation to engage young people in the protection of these vital insects. By doing so, we protect food security and enable a stable agricultural sector and fight for the preservation of biological diversity.

На Факултетот за земјоделски науки и храна, АДРА одржува нова едукативна сесија, составена од две обуки, едната теоретска, за храна и исхрана на медоносните пчели, а другата практична, поврзана со ожичување на рамки, правилно поставување на восочни подлоги. и подготовка на рамки.

Аt the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food, ADRA hold a new educational session, consisting of two trainings, one theoretical, on food and nutrition for honey bees, and the other practical, related to wiring the frames , proper installation of wax bases and preparation of frames.

At the end of the session, our trainees have had a tour of the Honey Bee Park (a genuine innovation to support the establishment of the beekeeping industry)in the courtyard of the faculty, which is under construction, in order to present the idea and concept of the park.
The Project Women beekeepers as drivers for positive change is funded by the Government of Slovenia.

На 15 февруари АДРА и Факултетот за земјоделски науки и храна во Скопје, Северна Македонија (првата и најстара највисока образовна институција досега), лабараторија за биологија и селекција на медоносни пчели ги започна градежните работи на Првиот 🐝 Парк на медоносни пчели во земјата и регионот. Во дизајнот и формирањето на паркот се вклучени водечките експерти од Северна Македонија, а поддржани и од словенечките.
Самиот парк ќе има повеќекратни намени: да им помогне на професорите и студентите за практично знаење, на студентите и другите научници од другите соседни земји, на поголемата јавна публика да ја разбере важноста на пчелите за човештвото, згора на тоа, пчеларите ќе ги видат во реалниот живот медоносни растенија и многу повеќе.
Владата на Република Словенија, преку Министерството за надворешни и европски работи и Словенечката помош и партнерите го финансираат 30-месечен проект Жените пчелари како двигатели за позитивни промени во Северна Македонија.
АДРА Словенија е главен изведувач, а АДРА Македонија е партнер за спроведување.

15th of February ADRA and Faculty of Agricultural Science and Food in Skopje, North Macedonia (the first and oldest Highest educational institution ever since), laboratory for biology and selection of honey bees has started the construction works of the First Honey Bee 🐝 Park in country and region. In the design and establishment of the Park are included the leading experts from North Macedonia and supported by the Slovenian ones too.
The park itself will have multiple purposes: help the professors and students for practical knowledge, the students and other scientists from other neighboring countries, the larger public audience to understand the importance of the bees for mankind, moreover the beekeepers will see in real life the honey bee plants and lot more.
The Government of the Republic of Slovenia, through its Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and Slovenian Aid and partners are financing 30 months project Women beekeepers as drivers for positive change in North Macedonia.
ADRA Slovenia is the prime contractor and ADRA Macedonia is the implementing partner.

What a small world it is. Today our Project Manager Dejan Antic and our bee keeping expert Goran Aleksovski Aleksovski met with Petr Opletal from Brno Chech Republik, an adventist businessman supporter of ADRA CZHECH at
Faculty of Agricultural Science and Food Skopje to discuss potential business cooperation in the field of 🐝 keeping products from North Macedonia. The meeting was facilitated by Mrs. Lljiljana Asenov, the president of the Czech Macedonian Association of Commerce.

Innovations, Innovations, Innovations!!!
ADRA Macedonia continues to support the beekeeping industry in the Republic of North Macedonia.
With the support from the Government of Slovenia, ADRA in cooperation with the management and experts from the Faculty of Agricultural Science and Food in Skopje will create a genuine BEE HONEY PARK.
This park will be of an educational and informative nature where students, pupils and the public will have the opportunity to learn about the meaning, biology, cultivation technology, honey plants and the products of honey bees. At the same time, the park will represent a kind of open classroom for holding part of the teaching outdoors, and within it there will be audio and visual elements.

Парк на пчелата – заедничка иницијатива на АДРА Македонија и ФЗНХ

Во кругот на Факултетот за земјоделски науки и храна од Скопје ќе никне првиот Парк на пчелата во Македонија. Овој парк ќе биде од едукативно-информативен карактер каде студентите, учениците и јавноста ќе имаат можност да се запознаат со значењето, биологијата, технологијата на одгледување, медоносни растенија како и производите на медоносните пчели. Воедно паркот ќе претставува и еден вид отворна училница за одржување на дел од наставата на отворено, а во рамките на истиот ќе има аудио и визуелни елементи.

Иницијативата и финансиската поддршка доаѓа од АДРА Македонија, а стручната поддршка од страна на Факултетот за земјоделски науки и храна од Скопје во чии рамки функционира Лабораторијата за биологија и селекција на медоносните пчели.

Деканот проф. д-р Танасковиќ и Г-дин Антиќ го означија потпишувањето на Меморандумот за соработка со што и формално започнуваат подготвителните активности за изградбата на Паркот на пчелата. На состанокот присуствуваа и продеканот за наука, соработка со стопанството и развој, проф. д-р Маркоски и раководителот на Лабораторијата за биологија и селекција на медоносните пчели, проф. д-р Узунов

Проектниот тим на АДРА Македонија продолжува и во 2024 година со своите проектни активности за развој на пчеларството во РСМ и активна поддршка на пчеларите почетници и веќе оформени пчелари. На 3 февруари во 10:00 часот на ФЗНХ беа реализирани следниве презентации:

2. Производство на матичен млеч и матици, Иван Додевски, професионален пчелар.

ADRA MACEDONIA (adra.org.mk) is the main sponsor of the event. Almost 50 grantees of the ADRA project "Women beekeepers as drivers for positive change in North Macedonia" financed by the Government of Slovenia participated at the event.
🐝 This is the eighth event in a row that is traditionally held with international participation. This year, the main lecturer will be prof. Dr. Chao Chen from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Beijing, China on "Beekeeping in China, with an emphasis on royal jelly production".

New beekeeping method 🐝🐝

Prof. Aleksandar Uzunov and Prof. Chao Chen published a new expert paper entitled "Queen Ringing – An Alternative Method for Inducing Brood Interruption", which presents an innovative method of brood interruption by placing a plastic ring on the queen's body. This method is well known to Chinese beekeepers, but almost completely new to the rest of the beekeeping world. The paper is the result of the collaboration between the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food from Skopje and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences from Beijing where prof. Uzunov is an expert advisor. The paper is available in the professional beekeeping magazine Bee World (https://doi.org/10.1080/0005772X.2023.2263285).
From 2019-2025 with support from ADRA International , Ministry of Foreign and EU Affairs of Slovenia and ADRA Slovenia , ADRA MACEDONIA has invested more than 400,000 EUR in Beekeeping Development in North Macedonia.

Starting from today, ADRA Leaders from across Europe are meeting in Collonges-sous-Salève/FR. Before the formal General Assembly of ADRA Europe, two long-standing ADRA leaders, Jörg Fehr and Bert Smit, were honored for their dedication to promote ADRAs work in the last two decades. In the following days we will discuss ADRAs global Strategic Framework, receive updates from across the region and participate in Leadership Training. Its so good to get to know new people that have just joined ADRA and to reconnect with colleagues.
