Why We Do What We Do? This Is Our Story

For a long time, the school systems had undergone many research into making it more appealing to the students, new technological approaches that would aid teachers and students alike to better comprehend the various subjects. And each year, they would fail in achieving the results the societies wanted. The history of PISA tests for majority of the countries involved in it show no change in kids’ performances in science (or advanced physics), mathematics, and language arts. A great number of these participating countries show decline in their achievement in the same subjects. Only a very small number of countries show a minor improvement. Despite the increased public spending in over 90 per cent of the countries participants, and major advancements in IT technology. And this history data spans twenty years, since the beginning of the PISA testing.

On the other side of the “coin”, more and more teachers in primary schools are leaving the teaching jobs in public schools because they say that are not paid enough for the tasks performed and the amount of time and energy involved in the teaching itself. Moreover, there is no clear consensus, at least here in Macedonia, about what textbooks the teachers and the kids should use since over the last decade, as a result of a great partisation of the institution (namely the Ministry of Education) and corruption, there has been published all kinds of nonsense. And so on, and so forth. Plus, the creator of this FOEVR company, being a teacher himself of mathematics and physics for the middle school kids and experiencing firsthand how they learn and what are facing when challenged with abstraction in the fundamental sciences (not to mention how some children are “pushed” through the school years without any knowledge whatsoever), it became obvious to him that someone had, at least, try to do something. So, he challenged himself to set out to re-design, in the best he knows, the entire school system in his country (for starters) by building from scratch the three pillars that any education system should rely on: technological (virtual reality), systemic (new curricula and practices that will be flexible enough to quickly adopt to the new requirements of the business world and the entire societies), and methodological (new and innovative teaching methods that will be drown out from the newest discoveries in the psychology of kids).

This is our story. This is our life. This is our future, that will be seen through the lives of our children and their children. We call anyone, who wants to be a part of this great story, to join us. Let us build together the future that our kids want and deserve.
