2023 GRADUATION CEREMONY
Congratulations to all our students and staff for another successful graduation ceremony. We are very proud of our graduating students and wish them the very best in their new lives and careers.

Its been a busy week. Students having being doing exercises in production and service in preparation for work experience in hotels and restaurants.

Students undertook more practical exercises to increase food presentation skills with specific attention to the art of plating-up a dish.
Last Night Sanon hosted a birthday celebration for Tracy a local Hot Air Balloon Pilot. It was a great night and great experience for our students.

This week Sanon hosted with UNDP support a forum promoting
the Use of Solar Technologies for Agricultural and Rural Development in Myanmar.
Our students gained valuable experience catering for the forum. Students worked both on kitchen and front of house services and contributed to a highly successful event , well done everyone.
A new intake of 30 students have started their 3 months training course in hospitality. Best of luck to everyone.

At Sanon we believe in supporting and participating in the local community.
This week Sanon donated free fried noddles to local members of the community. This was also a great experience for our students.

We practiced kitchen skills such as cutting methods.
Students prepared Thailand papaya salad and Vietnamese spring rolls
Front of House skills this week concentrated on table setting and learning bar equipment.

Sanon Training Restaurant is offering a 12 week training courses as ‘Waiting Staff’ and ‘Assistant Cooks’. The course includes 8 weeks training at Sanon and 4 weeks job training at partner hotels and restaurants.

The Sanon Training Restaurant has had a successful reopening of basic hospitality training for local disadvantaged youth. The training includes basic food production and beverage services. Its been a difficult few years and we would like to thank all those who have supported us and who have helped make this possible, our project manager Lim, our staff, the local community, local agencies, our donors as well as students and their families.
Sanon is committed to the health and safety of our guests, staff, students and community. Today our staff and some past and future students received their first covid-19 vaccination shots as part of our ongoing preparation for when we are able to reopen - well done to everyone.
Our Project Manager, Lim recently conducted a meeting at Sanon with students and colleagues to discuss preparation for reopening before the restarting of tourism. The disruption of Covid-19 has been challenging and discussions were held about how to support each other during this very difficult time. Stay safe everyone as we look to reopen when it becomes possible and viable.

Changing lives, building a future for Myanmar youth
Sanon Restaurant is a not-for-profit social enterprise operated by the Myanmar Youth Development Institute (MYDI), aiming to change the lives of disadvantaged youths in Myanmar.
Each year, up to 30 youths (between 17 and 23 years old) from across Myanmar join Sanon Restaurant on a 12-month vocational training program, before securing employment in the hospitality and tourism sectors. They are then monitored for a further two years to ensure that they settle well into their new lives.
