Whenever Dr. Montessori's birthday comes around we use it as a time to reflect on how we are moving forward within the Montessori Methodology. The concept that she passed the baton of this inspired and logical way of learning and living, enables us to continue to move it forward, keeping the core values close to our hearts. Ensuring that we are not being left behind in a world that no longer exists, serving the child that no longer exists, is key. We look around and are excited to be part of this continuing strive forward, keeping our roots firmly planted but our eyes ever skyward. Thank you Dr. Montessori for getting us started.

The very last workshop of this scholastic year was the Pre-Kinder workshop. We explored the steps that a child between 2.5 and 3.5 need to order and the skills that they need/ develop, during their time at nursery. A big thank you to all the parents who came to our workshops this scholastic year. We're happy to celebrate and strengthen our amazing school community together!

Our Primary children worked to create an origami card for Mother's Day. They first used spiral art to design their own origami paper, afterwards they followed the instructions to fold origami hearts which they stuck to their cards. Afterwards they made their own personalised messages. We just love this process based card, which truly reflect the individuality of each child. We once again thank our great Educators and Teachers in all age groups as we wrap up Teacher Appreciation week for creating an environment where all children can express their creativity.

It has been a very busy week at Casa Maria Montessori. This morning, on a beautiful spring day, our Tarxien Nursery community gathered at the Chinese Gardens for a community event. It was lovely to spend some time getting to know the parents and gathering in a social setting. Our fantastic team at the Tarxien Nursery prepared some lovely activities for the children including different types of painting, reading corners and a scavenger hunt. Thank you to all those who took the time out of their very busy days to attend. We appreciate your presence and being part of the growing Casa Maria Montessori community.

At our Nursery in Tarxien, Mother's Day is also being celebrated with a burst of creativity. From handprint arts to personalised cards, each creation is testament to the hard work that our Early Years Educators put in to provide an environment where children can practice their skills and individuality. Here's to the magic of childhood, the joy of creation and the celebration of Mother's Day.

For the past few weeks we've been very busy getting ready for Mother's Day. Whilst our main focus in line with the Montessori methodology is the process and not the end result we are truly in awe of the hard work that our Kinder children have put in their Mother's Day work. To make the window decorations the children cut the flowers and stuck them individually. The heart motif on the card was cut out using the Cricut which was sponsored by our parent community and the children decorated the cards individually. We take this opportunity to thank our fantastic Educators who supported the children so that they all create a piece of work which expresses the skills that they are learning everyday and more importantly their individuality.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Casa Maria Montessori would like to take this opportunity to thank all of its Teachers and Educators who everyday dedicate their time to empowering the children in our Nusery and School. Our Teachers and Educators go above and beyond everyday for each child, planning individualised learning, preparing the environment, designing and creating materials and working to build a true connection with each child. Your work is appreciated all year round.

This weekend we had the first ever sleep over for our Primary 2 community (Year 4 and Year 5 children). This event was organised in collaboration with the amazing Parent Commitee of the school. The Primary 2 children had the opportunity to spend the night at school, enjoying games, karaoke, a bbq and watched a movie together. A huge well done goes to Olivia Darmanin and Sean Arrigo and Maria Farrugia Zammit, our Early Years School Director who organised and supervised the event. Another new tradition that we are looking forward to repeat next year!

At Casa Maria Montessori, we strongly believe in parent education to strengthen the relationship with our parent community. Yesterday was the last workshop for this scholastic year. We explored coding, timelines and political maps. We then finished off with the story of the River of life. Thank you to all of the parents who have attended for our workshops this year. A special note of appreciation goes to our fantastic teaching staff for their dedication and hard work!

Spring was welcomed in style with the sun, time in nature and the great company of our community. Thank you to all families who attended our Spring Celebration, and donated yummy treats to our bake sale.

A Merry Christmas to our Casa Maria Montessori community. May this festive season bring peace and joy to you and all your families.

This morning we were blessed to be joined by Immanuel Mifsud . The children were very excited to meet the poet who had written the poems that they had been exploring. A big thank you to Mr. Mifsud for his patience and wonderful answers to all of their questions. Lastly a big thank you to our Primary teachers for organising this.

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas in Kinder! Our Educators have once again sprinkled the shelves with Christmas joy, swapping out pouring Chickpeas for pouring bells, decorating our own mini Christmas tree, counting Christmas items and of course, marking the number with Christmas pegs. Montessori, learning in a carefully prepared environment.

Over the past 2 weeks our year 2 children have been accompanied by their parents to give a presentation about their family. This is such a valuable experience for each child to share who they are within their family as well as all of the things that have meaning to their particular family. Thank you to all of the parents who dedicated the time to join us and for all of your beautifully thought out and created presentations. Our year 1s are very excited to take part next year !

A wonderful moment implementing our Montessori aligned coding programme. A big thank you to for all of the incredible work that they have done on this project. It is a work of art and an amazing way to develop coding skills.

This morning our year 1 and year 2 children were exploring the parts of their very own garden! They discussed how different food is grown as well as the specific names for the types of food. This lovingly created material provided the children with a hands on experience that they can repeat to consolidate their knowledge. A knowledge of food production helps children to make responsible food choices.

Today we celebrated World Children's Day. In our different communities we explored the lives of children around the world and the rights children have that are protected by the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child. Making children aware of their rights and the protection that they have is essential in empowering them to be active agents in their own lives.

This morning it was the turn of our year 3 and year 4 students to visit Buskett. As well as exploring producers and consumers, the children collected natural items to make a nature mobile. There was much discussion of textures, colours and shapes of the different items, as well as understanding where they came from. They were all very creative in their arrangement of their chosen natural items and worked to help each other to wrap and tie them to their mobiles.
