Since 2021, over morning coffees in Valletta, my French friend Laurence and I, have been dreaming of a space where fashion meets wellbeing, lifestyle, and culture. Fast forward to the beginning of 2024, and here it is - in Birgu (Three Cities), the start of our exciting new adventure at « Le Studio ». Stay tuned for updates! 🇲🇹✨🛍️

Laurence Barreau: A Journey to Wellness

I am Laurence Barreau, a French foot reflexologist with over 25 years of experience as a podiatrist. At 55 years old, I am a mother of three.

From a young age, I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, inspired by my grandmother who used natural remedies for daily health issues. After my French baccalaureate, I realized veterinary school was not an option, so I pursued science. However, after two years in a laboratory, I decided to switch paths and joined podiatry school, earning my diploma after four years.

While working as a podiatrist, I faced personal health issues, including persistent digestive problems and low energy. Holistic medicine offered temporary relief, and during a particularly challenging time in my thirties, I found solace and recovery through dietary changes, Pilates, and yoga. This period also introduced me to holistic medicine's focus on physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

A significant life change came when my family moved from France to Malta. To practice podiatry in Malta, I was required to undergo additional training, including surgery, which I opposed due to its aggressiveness. In France, I used to develop less invasive treatments like orthonyxia, nail dental resin devices to treat ingrown nails.

In 2021, I decided to follow my passion for natural therapies and began studying foot reflexology. Practicing on friends and family, I saw remarkable improvements in their health. My training deepened my belief in reflexology’s benefits.

Two months ago, I needed a place to practice. My friend Frederique, the owner of Perruche, invited me to join her new project in Birgu, and that’s how it all started!

Now, I am excited to welcome you to Serenity Reflexology, where I combine my extensive experience with a passion for holistic wellness to help you achieve balance, relaxation, and vitality.
