Un événement à ne pas manquer ce vendredi : « Le Grand Débat », après la présentation du Budget 2024-2025. Nawaz Noorbux recevra sur le plateau trois membres du gouvernement et trois de l’opposition pour débattre des mesures budgétaires annoncées par Renganaden Padayachy.
Le gouvernement sera représenté par le Deputy Prime Minister et ministre des Terres et du Logement, Steven Obeegadoo, ainsi que par les ministres Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo et Mahen Seeruttun. Ils auront en face d’eux le leader de l'opposition, Arvin Boolell, celui du Parti mauricien social-démocrate, Xavier-Luc Duval, et le député du Mouvement militant mauricien (MMM), Reza Uteem.

What a party !!!! Superb hosts, guests and ambiance with Desiree Francois from Cassiya performing live !!!

And what a feast we proposed for such an exceptional event

Purpose of the workshop

🌿🌊 A heartfelt thank you to all participants from the private sector, public entities, and colleagues from NGOs for joining us in our recent workshop.
"Preserving the Wild South: Our Shared Heritage - Multi-Stakeholder Consultation."
The workshop, held on April 18th at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre in Bell, did mark a significant milestone as we came together to explore the proposal of a coastal geopark from Gris Gris to La Cambuse.
We were guided by two fundamental questions:
- Is there a shared willingness to preserve the coastline between La Cambuse and Gris Gris?
- And how can we work together to achieve this goal?
There seems to be consensus already regarding the access and use of the existing "sentier côtier". However, there is still work to do on the key principle of "no construction" on these coastal State Lands. (Pas Géométriques). We hope that in the coming weeks everybody understands that we all win if we do not build on this last portion of our coast.
It's time to shift away from the destructive cycle of conflict between human development and nature and even more conflicts between us all.
The presence of the Conservatoire du littoral provided invaluable insights into co-management strategies. Their landscape approach serves as a model for fostering dialogue and collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
Today, the coastline from Gris Gris to La Cambuse faces various challenges, including environmental degradation and safety concerns. Yet, through collaborative efforts, we can protect and enhance this region's full potential.
As civil society actors, we recognise the importance of dialogue and cooperation in overcoming existing conflicts and building a coalition of the willing. The workshop served to decide on a roadmap to preserve this corner of the island and safeguard its unique treasures.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the U.S. Embassy Mauritius for their unwavering support of the "Enn Vizion Pou Nou Lakot" programme since 2021. Their belief in the power of civil society advocacy has been a driving force behind our collective mission and positive results achieved so far.
