Today, we stand united against discrimination! 🙌🏻 Join the Psychology Association of Villa College (PAVC) in observing the Zero Discrimination Day. Together, we can create a world free from discrimination.

Ms. Azra Abdul Sattar, BPs programme coordinator and PAVC supervisor, alongside MSc Counselling student Aminath Mohamed, dedicated their weekend to conduct a 5-hour Professional Development session at M. Mulah School for all the teachers and management. The focus was on enhancing counseling skills and promoting teacher mental health. 🧠📝

Ethical Code of Conduct Validation Session held at Villa College.

The session was held for industry experts to validate the framework for “The Ethical Code of Conduct for Psychology and Counseling Professionals in the Maldives”, fomulated by hard work of th Masters of Counselling students of Villa College. This initiative aims to maintain and strengthen ethical standards in the field.

Assistant Professor Dr. Aishath Nasheeda and BPs Coordinator and lecturer Ms. Azra Abdul Sattar conducted a session for Iskandhar School students. 9 students from BPs accompanied them in this session as facilitators. 95 students participated in this interactive session based on Career Guidance and Mental Health Awareness.

Dr Kanthi Hettigoda, visiting lecturer at Villa College, conducted a session titled “Let’s Talk Relationships” on Saturday, 16th December 2023. Her session focused on relationships among young adults, the stemming reasons and how to overcome relationship issues. This session was open to public; young adults enrolled at Villa and the public attended to take part in this session.

BPs Coordinator and lecturer Ms. Azra Abdul Sattar conducted a session for Jamaludden School students. 6 students from BPs accompanied her in this session as facilitators. 85 students participated in this interactive session based on Leadership Skills and Mental Health Awareness.

RISEN Day 1

The RISEN Peer Psychosocial Support Training Program began today with 21 students from different batches of BPs. RISEN is an event organised by PAVC and conducted by Ali Adyb (Bear) from Journey.

This is a 5-day program focused on skills and knowledge on providing peers with psychosocial support.

Day 1 session comprised of activities on the cycle of change, peer influences, and communication.

The second BrainWave event was held on November 18, 2023, with students from various batches of the BPs program. The event was graced by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Ms. Aishath Mala, along with Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education, Ms. Fathimath Saeed, the BPS Coordinator, Ms. Azra Abdul Sattar, and the MSC Coordinator, Dr. Aishath Naseeda.
