HOW TO ADD EMOTIONS TO YOUR PLAYING AND SINGING🎶
Very key insights to musicians and singers!!!

So before I talk about how one can play or sing with emotions, I would like you to think for a moment about how a person expresses themselves when they talk. When one is angry, they usually talk louder, or when one feels excited, they may talk faster than normal. This same principle can be applied to music when one is playing or singing.

Many times I tell my students to play with emotions if they want to sound good. You maybe out there wondering how you can go to that special place in your performance. Well, my answer to you is that, just be able to ‘let go’ when you play. I’m sure there some people who are still not getting it, anyway here are some of the things that will help you perform with emotions.

The first thing you need to know is that, you need to allow the music to play through you. In order to touch people’s feelings, you should be able to let go in your playing. If you try to play good, most of the time you will find yourself not playing so good. So it’s better to let go off the need to sound good. A good analogy to use is to think of music not as something that you play, but something that plays through you. Music starts playing itself through you instead of you trying to make it happen.

Secondly, let go of the need to sound good, you need a quiet mind for this, a still mind. If you are thinking to yourself “gosh, I hope I sound great up there”, it means your mind is not still and you are worrying. People don’t go to see music being played or to hear a worried musician wrestling with the thoughts in his or her head. People go to see musicians play because they hope that the musicians will be performing from a silent place within their souls that on it’s turn touches the listeners own need for liberated self-expression.

Thirdly, playing or singing with emotions is when you give people the gift of your music, your music is a gift. Approach your music as a gift for humanity, play for anyone who wants to listen. If they don’t want to listen that’s alright too. Some people are not ready for your music, some may have self-doubts or are jealous of you. Whatever it is, play music for the people who want to listen and forget about all the rest.

Lastly, play or sing wholeheartedly. For example, when you want to play great emotional blues or jazz solos that touch people’s feelings, be sincere in your playing about the emotions that you feel. If you play sincere, there’s nothing to hide. Playing sincere not only helps you with performing, but it also helps you to get rid of any shyness that you may feel towards playing for other people. So start playing and singing with emotions, see you at the top!

The Lilongwe Chief Resident Magistrate, Madalitso Chimwaza has dismissed as premature the application to discharge the extradition request for Prophet Shepherd and his wife Mary Bushiri, as the evidence was not authenticated as per the law.

The Bushiris want extradition charges brought against them by the South African government to be dropped on the grounds that the prosecution’s documents are unauthenticated.

In an interview after the court hearing, Senior State Advocate Dzikondianthu Malunda indicated that the state is happy with the ruling.

“We are happy with the ruling and we are glad that there will be progress in this matter. We hope there will be no further disruptions and that the matter will be determined on the merits," he said.

The matter will be heard again on October 10, 2023 when the witness from South Africa will testify before the Lilongwe Magistrate's Court.

MultiChoice Malawi gets injunction against Macra

Digital television service providers MultiChoice Malawi has obtained an injunction against the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (Macra) restraining the regulatory body from taking any action against the company and its employees.

The court order restricts Macra from making any enforcement measures as regards the services provided by MultiChoice Malawi until the judicial review case which is currently in court is determined.

Reacting to the court order Macra director general Daudi Suleman said currently DSTV signals are landing in Malawi illegally and the move by MultiChoice Malawi is to prevent them from taking action on the same.

"Use of spectrum without a license is a serious offence under the Communications Act.
Our legal team will contest this and regulatory enforcement will take place against any illegal
operator as per law and regulation," said Suleman.

The injunction is the latest development in the ongoing rift between Macra and MultiChoice Malawi which has seen the television service providers suspend the provision of DSTV services in the country.

ONE TREE THAT CAN MAKE UP A FOREST DISCOVERED IN MALAWI.

Currently tourist have discovered a very rare tree in the Southern Eastern part of Malawi, in the district of Machinga.

According to a report which has recently surfaced, the tree is called “The Chilema” tree. One tree which managed to make up a forest and it is found in an area called Chilema.
