Exploring Haitian history with AI. 🎨✨ We tasked an AI to create a visual for Haiti's Ancestors' Day on January 2nd, and here's the awe-inspiring outcome. This artwork beautifully reflects the reverence and respect of this important day, as it commemorates the heroes of the Haitian Revolution. It serves as a poignant tribute to the enduring strength and spirit of the Haitian people. Join us in honoring this rich cultural heritage. 🇭🇹

King Ramses the First 🤴🏿 🌹 🤎

Called Paramessu in ancient Kemet and founder of the 19th dynasty, he succeed Horemheb. Even if his reign was quite brief, it was he who was at the origin of the famous dynasty of Ramesses that made Egypt famous.

Born into a noble family living in Lower Egypt, probably in the Nile Delta region, Paramessu was initially destined for a military career. Soon after, he left his family to join Pharaoh's army. His rise was meteoric! Rising from chief of the archers to general of the Egyptian troops, nothing could stop him, he won victory after victory. So much so that he ended up being noticed by the pharaoh himself, Horemheb, the last ruler of the XVIIIth dynasty. Drawing closer and closer to the upper echelons of power, he befriended the king and gradually gained influence. Thus, after a few years, Horemheb made him his vizier and high priest of Amun. This was an extremely rare privilege! The latest to achieve this feat is... Horemheb himself! This could be one reason for the two men's understanding.

Both of them came from the Egyptian nobility and promised themselves a brilliant military career that allowed them to climb all the ranks of society before reaching the ultimate title.

Towards the end of his reign, Horemheb having no son and heir appointed the future Ramesses I as co-regent, and thus indirectly as his successor. Thus, at his death, Paramessu became the ruler of the two lands, pharaoh of the whole of Egypt, and took the name of Ramesses I.

Unfortunately, Ramesses I was already quite old when he ascended the throne. For this reason, he asked his son (and that of the Great Royal Wife Satre), the future Seti I, to accept a co-regency. Indeed, many traces of the latter have been found. So the father-son collaboration seemed to be working well. Everything was done to ensure the transition in the most legitimate way possible.

After a short reign of about three years, Ramesses I died and gave way to his son and co-regent, the now pharaoh, Seti I. This brief stint on the throne left few marks, the main ones being the desire to erase the very last traces of Akhenaten's heresy. However, his politics were different from those of his son. While Seti I was more concerned with the expansion of Egypt by engaging in major military campaigns, Ramesses I, on the contrary, preferred simply to beautify the country through the continuation of constructions such as those of the temple of Karnak.

Thus, even though the succession was very well prepared, the difference in political orientation between father and son was quite clearly perceived. It should also not be forgotten that Ramesses I was getting old when he acceded to the throne. Age probably got the better of his youthful warlike dreams

His Death :
He was buried in tomb KV 16 (Valley of the Kings). The latter was discovered in 1817 by the Italian explorer Giovanni Belzoni. Its small size testifies to the brevity of its construction and therefore to the short reign of its occupant. The frescoes inside are not unfinished! The funerary decoration is still at the height of a pharaoh! 🥰
