Energy is everywhere and nowadays is so common, that sometimes we don't even notice that we are using it. That's why we showed our research and information to our classmates from college, we must realize how much energy we consume, how is it produced, and why is it important that we switch to renewable energy sources to help mitigate the climate crisis. Fair trade is important for hard working farmers and our planet. The cocoa industry, for years, has been ignoring the poverty and poor work conditions for cocoa producers. Without them, we would not have joy by eating delicious chocolate, let's support fair trade! Here is why unfair trade is a social and environmental issue. Turning Green
Currently having government plans that adapt to the problems that climate change has raised is essential, because of that the SDGs were created to facilitate the identification of solutions to the problems already identified globally, the government of Yucatan implements 7 of the 17 SDGs, In sustainable energy projects, SDGs 7, 11 and 13 are involved. It is a step towards the future of a sustainable city, but in the same way, the implementation of projects with the burning of fossil fuels continues to be promoted and that must end Again, the transition to clean energy involves a long period of time, but the benefit for citizens and the planet is efficient. Is clear the racism within the fossil fuels industry, black people, indigenous people and brown people are the most affected by the industry in terms of health, payment and more, and the government allows it and turns a blind eye to it.
Here is a video of racism in the fossil fuels industry.

I think as consumers we should investigate and inform ourselves about fast fashion because it’s not just about buying but about the process it went to be in that store, most of it comes from exploitation of workers and the huge use of natural resources.
With this challenge I have felt quite good because I was able to cook which is one of my favorite activities and I was also able to eat delicious dishes reducing my carbon footprint I shared the food with my dad, and we both feel very good eating this way and personally I I would like to have more days without meat, it has many health benefits to eat plant-based and on Instagram, I follow many accounts of vegan recipes that I would love to try to make that with the little time I have I have not been able to do it but I enjoyed sharing my time and effort preparing dishes for my dad and eating them as a family. This is a call to all of us, we need to work to reduce food insecurity in our country to help all the people that are affected by it due to the discrimination and inequality.
Fair trade is extremely important to achieve a great circular economy, we should all apply the principles of fair trade since we give value to many factors that we omit in the traditional economy, it is more expensive to buy items certified by institutions that guarantee trade fair but we are helping to create a stronger economic level.
Fair trade is a certificate that promotes comercial trading and which protects the farmers and workers rights, to have a safers conditions at work and fair payments. Is important to understand this because this means that a lot of workers and farmers are not treated with the basic rights they deserve and with fair trade it gives the consumers the confidence that the workers get a fair deal of what they work. We need more trees in our college! 🌳There is plenty of benefits a tree can provide. We want trees in the parking lots where there is none, we want more trees near the buildings because it is always so hot. Let's make a change towards mitigation of global warming. 🌎

The “reason for being” a Japanese concept is an ikigai that refers to your life purpose. Over time it can be changing but it is helpful because it makes you realize what brings you joy and that would push you to find enjoyment in your work, balance and more.

This is how me and my family plan to sustainably repurpose and reinvent our wardrobe:
In the first photos you can see that when a member of the family no longer has old shirts, jeans or clothing that no longer fit their body or style, we organize a clothing swap. Of course, we have to make adjustments and alterations to create a sustainable fashion future with those garments and extend their life.
In that DIY example all I needed was my boyfriend's button down shirt. I moved some buttons, knotted here and there, and paired it with high-waisted jeans (which was previously an oversized pair of jeans, before removing the back pockets and cutting the back of the center seam, then placing the fabric on the sides for a perfect fit, all that is needed is sewing to secure everything back together).
In the following photos, we see an example of a slow fashion, since, according to the the Buyerarchy of Needs, we adjust to what we have to use what we have and take care of it and pass it from generation to generation, upcycling it into a piece we can continue using it as much as possible, obviously, everyone gives it their own style.
In the last photos, we can see an example of a diy, by figuring out a new way to wear our items, by using it in different ways depending on the occasion (from a religious trip to a beach party).
If you want to learn about best ways that we as individuals can help to create a sustainable fashion future, send us an Dm and we will share some resources for DIY suggestions.
The fashion industry has always seemed highly unfair to me since large companies seek their own economic benefit by exploiting labor in countries with cheap labor but also polluting in unimaginable ways when making each garment, it is a lousy industry and unfortunately most people only look at the pretty side of fashion.
Currently, we need more conscious companies willing to make a change in their sales strategy like Patagonia, and companies like Savanna rangs will help counteract the damage caused over time, but this is not the solution to the problem, it is a solution to the consequence of the culture of fast fashion, the solution to the problem would be to ban this type of demand for so many textiles that end up wasted throughout the world, the fundamental thing to put an end to polluting industries is collective consciousness, although not everyone cares in the same way about the current consumption habits educating the population and developing a massive responsibility, each person will have the will to change their ideals in favor of the environment.

The fast fashion industry is one of the largest producers of waste, half a million tons of plastic microfibers are dumped into the ocean...that's the equivalent of 50 billion plastic bottles! 🌊❗️
Additionally, factory workers earn little over $2 a day and are exposed to hazardous and abusive working conditions; Unicef reports that 170 million children are engaged in child labour, and many are in textile production. That's the reason why industries look for poor countries to put their factories and get cheap labor.
Stop fast fashion🚫, be a conscious consumer! buy less, but better ✅️

Going plant-forward is very easy these days, there is plenty of foods that can provide the protein your body needs, not just meat! Like tofu, quinoa, mushrooms, lentils, beans, and legumes. Did you know that of all the plastic that has ever existed, more than a half was produced in the last 15 years and 91% has never been recycled?
The industries and companies make profit from polluting the planet while producing more and more single use plastic, packaging every single product, selling and promoting consumerism and blaming the customer for the environmental crisis.
Learn about this global problem and the new solutions to it in the film "The Story of Plastic", a great documentary to watch to inform yourself and others, as well as motivate you to fight for a change in the system we live in.
