Tomorrow at the Slow Food Market, The Rainbow Deli will be selling bagels, vegetarian soups, the world's best granola, brownies, pasta sauce and various foods in jars, like dill pickles, ginger beets, caramelized red onions, pickled carrots with daikon and pickled scallions, all great accompaniments to a delicious toasted bagel with cream cheese.
Tomorrow, January 21, at Slow Food Market Merida, the Rainbow Deli will have a loaded table. There will be three kinds of bagels (everything, onion and jalapeno with cheese), brownies, Capetown crunchies, the world's best granola, vegetarian lasagna, lentil soup and kale/baked bean soup. The market now has 52 vendors on Saturdays. Pay us a visit. You won't be disappointed.
Slow Food Market is now open on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9. I will be in the US for 6 weeks, leaving on Thursday, so I will be at SF on Wednesday night for customers who want to stock up on bagels, soup, lasagna or conservas. Pay us a visit. Everything freezes well.

Friday is my day in the kitchen - bagels, three kinds, sun-dried tomato with cheese, jalapeno and raisin. Also tomorrow at Slow Food Market I will have vegetarian lasagna, lentil soup, kale and baked bean soup, lime squares and the usual assortment of food in jars - beets with ginger, pears with cinnamon, spicy cauliflower, dilly beans, chutney and tomato-corn relish. The Rainbow Deli will be selling at Mercasal, the new market in Garcia Gineres, today from 9 to 2. It is on Calle 14 x 23 y 25 at the Mercado Fresco. Bagels, pickles and conservas as always, plus vegetarian lasagna, veggie burgers, soups and quiche. Come and enjoy the new venue.

I have been gone to Chicago for the past six months helping my daughter take care of new twin baby girls and my 2.5 year old grandson. Now I'm back in Merida, spending the day baking, and I will be at Slow Food Market tomorrow morning with fresh bagels as well as dill pickles and other goodies. Come by to stock up.
I'll be out of town feb 17-March 31. If anyone wants bagels or lime squares before I go, let me know. They freeze well and would tide you over until I'm back! I'll take orders at slow food this Saturday, or via Facebook, and they can be picked up at my house in centro the following week before I head out.

Another busy and interesting Saturday morning at the Slow Food Market in Merida. I wish my daughter Maddie could have been there with me, as she has been since the beginning, but she is back in Chicago for the summer. I sold out of bagels today within the first hour and a half. Chutney seems to be the other consistent favorite.
It was HOT at Slow Food Market yesterday, but we were there with delicious bagels, preserved fruits and veggies, our newest addition to the line-up, a wonderful sweet-but-spicy chutney as well as lime and orange curds and lime squares. Bagel baking day is here again. Six batches in the works for the Saturday market. As always, there will be pickled goodies and, again this week, delicious quiche.
Forgot again, we will also be serving fresh broccoli/onion/red pepper and Parmesan quiche and my mom's famous snickerdoodles! Only the best cookies on Earth. Yum. Hurry before I eat them all.
Forgot to mention we will have new pickles tomorrow. Sweet and sour red onion and our favorite, dilly beans!
