Today we went to play!

There is no doubt in my mind that the Cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula are a magnificent treasure that we must feel very grateful to have and to be able to enjoy!

Cenotes (sinkholes) are spaces in nature created millions of years ago that have been part of human history as a source of life, a space of spirituality, a space for recreation, and more!

Thousands, if not millions, of people, come to the Yucatan Peninsula every year to witness and experience this marvel of nature in its many forms.

If I had to choose the one activity I most enjoy doing in this region is exactly this: connecting with nature in the depths and silence (and fun) of the cenotes. (And taking cool pictures too).

It is true, however, that I make an effort to visit and suggest the least impacted spaces and/or initiatives, whose goals and principles are responsible promotion, protection, preservation, and respect.

Plus, if the project belongs to a local community and very hard-working people, I not only admire them but follow them and try to as much as possible recommend their work.

This is Bejil-Ha Riviera Maya a group of young local entrepreneurs from the Chemuyil community that got together 8 years ago (at least) to clean and start protecting the sinkholes found in the town in which they were born and saw them grow.

They share with you not only a fun day of sun, swimming, and photography, but also, during the experience you get to connect with today's Mayan Culture of this region.

It was a super fun day while at the same time insightful.

We also made new friends!

Make sure to visit them during your holiday anywhere between Cancun and Tulum!

Of course, I can take you there as well, and, if you didn't know, the town of Chemuyil is super close to a wonderful virgin beach that we can take you to!

Cómo saben, estamos al final de la celebración de nuestra tradición ahora llamada "Día de mu***os".

Yo crecí viendo a mi abue colocar una veladora y flores en una esquinita en la cocina y por eso sé que la conexión con aquellos que se nos fueron siempre se ha mantenido muy fuerte.

Yo empecé a poner la ofrenda de mi papá en mis viajes desde el año pasado, pero, el apenas se fue hace poco más de un año por lo que en mi mente y corazón el regresó ahora.

No hay duda de que parte de la esencia de esta celebración es el recordar a los que se nos fueron y eso los mantiene siempre presentes y más vivos que nunca.

Me encanta sentir esta tradición en mi y estoy súper orgullosa de ella

No importa cuánta fiesta o comercio se organice alrededor de ella, es importante que conservemos su más profundo significado.

We are travelling through Chihuahua, mainly in the Creel and Copper canyon area. Today we went on a tour to the Cusarare waterfall, that, even if there Is no much water, was a pretty sight, we visited the famous Stones valleys. These resemble Monks, mushrooms and frogs. These are the 3 names of the valleys. We also went to the arareko lake which Is actually a dam, and, unfortunatelly this year Is very low as there hasn't been much rain. We learned about the raramuri culture, about the area and about Chihuahua in general. We had an absolutely beautiful Time.
