QUINCEAÑERA

The custom comes from the great pre-Columbian cultures of Mexico and Guatemala (Aztecs and Mayas) that performed puberty rites to indicate the entrance to adult life is known as the fifteen-year party. In these cultures, upon reaching the date of fifteen years, the young women left the family to the telpochcalli school where they learned the history and traditions of their culture and prepared for marriage. Then, they returned to the community to celebrate their quinceañera party.

I stumbled upon this lovely quinceañera today. All the family came in cars decorated for the ocation and they where all elegantly dressed. During some pictures the girl was holding a framed picture of a young boy, I guess it was a deceased family member. The guys behind her that a dressed in the same color are her “chambelanes” and they will dance with her during the party, they are usually family members and friends of the quinceañera.

The family was proud and the oldest male of the family kept of telling them: this is serious take it seriously please.

The first picture was taken 10 years ago when I started trying to be a Real Estate agent, I had no idea about the business… OMG a client I was working with asked me to give him the price per square meter in the center of town and since I did not know the answer I told him that I would find that out and of course he never called me back 😄🥲.
That year I only made 2 sales that ended up falling apart… I had bought my first house so I was broke and feeling hopeless since I thought there was no place for me in the Real Estate world.
The next year I had to quit since I couldn’t attend meetings because I was still working as a Physical Therapist and that was how I was making a living. I had to leave the business not really wanting to 😔.
Then in 2018 I had the opportunity to join the business again in a fabulous local and Mexican company that I will always feel proud about and grateful 🙏🏻 “Colonial Real Estate” ♥️
I became an agent that year and I sold 11 homes 🏡.
The next year during 2019 things slowed down and I learned what every realtor that has lasted in this business should know and that is how to survive a hard market whithout loosing hope 🙌🏻
Same thing during the pandemic I had to be patient and persistent and my sellers did the same. I could only feel thankful and I started my YouTube channel that year only to give more exposure to my listings.
The next year during 2021 for my own personal reasons I decided to join Coldwell Banker SMART ⭐️
I was scared ohh yesssss…. I was not selling much during the first months and I was also diagnosed with breast cancer ♋️ that year but I never stopped, I even attended a closing with a drainage and wore a long dress to hide it, at the end of the year I had sold 26 properties and during 2023 I had my best selling year making 32 closings, it was stellar !!! 😄🙌🏻⭐️…
Real estate is a fluid business and you never know what comes next as in our lives. I take it as it comes and I always hold strong to my dreams whatever the circumstances and whatever my state of mind.
