Aunque son casi 600 los que realizan cirugías estéticas en la región de Baja California, el especialista certificado en cirugía plástica, estética y reconstructiva ha compartido anteriormente que en realidad son alrededor de 60 los que sí están debidamente certificados para realizar cirugías de este tipo.

“Pueden ser números imprecisos porque hay mucha rotación, vienen de otros lugares y se van, hacen paquetes. Están muy de moda las tandas y los reúnen en un fin de semana. Vienen cirujanos de otros estados que operan y se van”.

El también miembro del Colegio Médico de Tijuana, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Consejo Mexicano de Cirugía Plástica y miembro titular de la Asociación Mexicana de Cirugía Plástica, Estética y Reconstructiva, lleva casi dos décadas de carrera en Baja California, donde ha practicado más de 12 mil procedimientos, realizando contribuciones como el modelado corporal y tratamiento avanzado de pacientes quemados.

Por eso, el Dr. Pelayo reitera a todos quienes deciden realizarse algún procedimiento quirúrgico, a buscar los antecedentes de los cirujanos, hospitales donde se van a operar y que conozcan al equipo médico, para obtener resultados satisfactorios y confiables.

Finalmente, el también presidente del Hospital Ciplastic exhorta a los cirujanos a mantener los altos estándares de calidad e integridad que son imprescindibles en la práctica médica: “Contar con un expediente clínico adecuado, con un resplado de número de consultas, exámenes realizados y consentimientos sobre el procedimiento que se requiere realizar”, así como capacitarse regularmente en las leyes y regulaciones médicas.
