Les comparto esta instantánea memorable con el Dr. Miguel Carbajo, oriundo de Valladolid, España. Carbajo, co-creador de la técnica BAGUA o Bypass Gástrico de una Anastomosis, ha sido un pionero en revolucionar el tratamiento de la obesidad mórbida. Mi encuentro con él simboliza la unión de mentes brillantes dedicadas a combatir la obesidad y sus complicaciones metabólicas. Este momento destaca no solo el intercambio de conocimientos sino también el espíritu de colaboración que anima a nuestra comunidad médica global en su misión de avanzar en el cuidado de la salud. Su trayectoria, marcada por la innovación y el compromiso con mejorar la vida de los pacientes, resplandece especialmente hoy, recordándonos la importancia de nuestra labor conjunta.

Desde Lima, Perú, tengo el placer de compartir esta foto con ustedes, en la cual aparezco al lado del Dr. Sergio Santoro, un distinguido cirujano bariatra de Brasil, reconocido por haber revolucionado el campo de la cirugía metabólica con su innovadora Técnica de Bipartición Intestinal. Esta técnica ha demostrado ser prometedora en más de 1,000 pacientes en Brasil, marcando un significativo avance en el tratamiento de la obesidad y la diabetes al ofrecer una opción menos invasiva, con el potencial de reducir el riesgo de deficiencias vitamínicas y fomentar una considerable pérdida de peso.
