Ramps that are ADA compliant must always maintain a minimum clear width of 36" (91.4 cm). Any ramp must have a cross slope that is less than 1:50 or 2%. The handrails included, the 36" (91.4 cm) unobstructed width must be maintained between all.

A ramp is made up of level landings interspersed between horizontally inclined runs. Any slope that is more than 1:12 and less than 1:2 along an accessible path is deemed to be a ramp and must adhere to ADA accessibility regulations. Every time possible, the steepest slope should be employed.
