It’s bizarre that majority of people with va**nas can’t locate their va**nas. But it’s cool, that’s why we are here for! No one teaches us! So it’s understandable!

If you struggle with urine leakage, incontinence, accidental leakage, occasionally can’t make it to toilet in time, a “weak bladder” or whatever terms and languages that related to your bladder. Just know this, you are not alone! And Millions of people are struggling in the same boat as you!

Listen ladies, Stop listening to your bladder.

One of the biggest issues with frequent urination and p*eing your pants when you “wait too long” is not exactly because of your pelvic floor.

It’s your BRAIN telling your bladder to act out!! And causes the urgency. While the pelvic floor muscle is usually involved, it’s not the only thing that needs re-training. Your bladder is not the boss of you, you must take over the control.

The more you listen to these dysfunctional signals, the more you have less and less control over your bladder. And how to learn to control it are quickly learned in pelvic floor therapy. Go see a pelvic health physiotherapist if you can now before things get worse, where you may need to depend on pads but with no period. And even if you do use pads, we can change that too!

Women with urine leaking problems need to know that they are not alone, that they don’t need to put up with it, because urine leaking can be reverse, and most cases can even be totally free from it.

It’s not unusual for us to hear from clients “I’m not incontinent, I just leak a bit”. Any leaking of anything (so, p*e, poo or pumps) is abnormal. A failure to educate people on what normal is means that people don’t recognise that they have a problem, and one which often gradually gets worse over time that might leads to pelvic organ prolapse.

Apart from the secondary depression, inactivity, sexual dysfunctions, and hip fractures (elderly people hurrying to the toilet in the night are at risk of falls) the simple truth is that this interferes with every single thing that a woman wants to do – 1:3 of our women is being disempowered by urinary incontinence (Urine Leaking). And, it needn’t be so.

Because the solution is simple – Get the Right Treatment
Get your pelvic floor getting stronger so that it can prevent leaking.

How to do that?

You need to do correct pelvic floor exercise (Kegel) according to your pelvic floor capability. Basically, getting your pelvic floor check up is the first thing you must do.

We are happy to see our client is now free from urine leaking, able to reverse her prolapse and she even now can carry her baby without worry of urine leaking anymore which is a huge change in her life!

Do you know that women are more prone to have constipation, especially after giving birth? This can be caused by rising level of progesterone hormone, which slows down digestive tract.
However, there are other certain factors that may contribute to constipation such as low thyroid hormone levels, weaken pelvic floor muscles, lack of physical activity, menstruation, and depression.
Constipation is a condition in which you have fewer than three bowel movements in a week, and your stools are hard, dry, and small, making them painful and difficult to pass.
Some people naturally have a bowel movement a few times a day, while others go just a few times a week. You don't need constipation treatments unless you're going to the bathroom a lot less often than usual.
Here are some tips to help reliefs your constipation:
1. 25 to 30 grams of fiber daily. Fiber makes stool bulkier and softer so it’s easier to pass. Good sources include whole grains found in cereals, breads, and brown rice, beans, vegetables and fresh or dried fruits. Prunes and bran cereal are tried and true constipation remedies.
2. Drink enough water especially when take more fiber because more water is needed for absorption.
3. Limit high fat/low fiber food. Cheese and other dairy products, processed foods, and meat can make constipation worse.
4. Exercise regularly. Moving your body will keep your bowels moving, too.
5. Massage. Massaging your own abdomen in a certain pattern can help encourage bowel movements.
6. Kegel exercise (Pelvic Floor Exercise). Some women get constipated because they unconsciously clench their muscles when they try to p**p. The inability to relax pelvic floor muscle need a proper guidance on how to do a correct contraction so you can control how to relax the muscle especially during bowel movement.

Lifting weight and participate in high intensity exercise to tone and look fit?
Be careful ladies, not to injure your inner muscle such as your pelvic floor muscle.

Did you know that while getting yourself looking fit and toned, you may have risked your pelvic floor getting weakened if you do not take care of these muscles. Do not neglect your pelvic floor just because you can't see it.

What should i do if i want to continue with high intensity exercise but not injure my inner muscles?

The answer is simply by doing Kegel (Pelvic Floor Exercise) but take note ladies, you MUST ensure that you are doing the correct Kegel to get the results.

You don't have to sacrifice an active, healthy lifestyle (and you shouldn't have to), try adding Kegel to your routine and you pelvic floor will be taken care of but remember you have to do correct Kegel.

We never think about pelvic health as much as other health conditions because we thought it's normal. Here is the things to look for when it comes to pelvic health, the definition of normal for pelvic health means you don't have any problems such as:

1. No urine leaking. Even after babies. Including when hard cough/sneeze or when bladder is full, or when the urge is too strong or when doing heavy activities

2. P*eing no more than 6-9x daily. (Even if you drink a lot of water)

3. P*eing no more than 0-1x each night

4. P*e stream that lasts for 10 seconds or more

5. Pain free sexual in*******se

If you have any of the symptoms above, it means that your pelvic floor needs the attention and care. Prolong neglect of this issues can only worsening your condition. Prevention and early detection is always better.

We criticize women and anyone for settling for someone that’s not good enough for them. But we settle regarding our pelvic health all the time.

This is what society has been normalized for us:
Painful periods are normal (settling), urine leaking after pregnancy is normal (settling), It’s normal for women not to enjoy sexual health (settling), If you have fibroids, PCOS, or endometriosis all you can do is “watch it” and get birth control (settling), Prolapse is normal after childbirth (settling) and frequent trip to toilet is normal as we get older (settling). These are common perceptions that we have regarding pelvic health and majority of us keep it silent cause we think it’s normal. And our way to cope with it is either just “watch it” or just go along with it.

Did you know that things like our insulin levels, cholesterol levels, and waist circumference impacts blood flow to our cl****is? Did you know that your posture can also impact your pelvic health? That’s why sometimes you have this persistent back pain that doesn’t want to go away even after you already seek treatment for back pain.

All these things that we’ve settled for and shield away from discussing about it, actually are happening at the central axis of our pelvic health! Things like your cl****al function, the mucus that comes out of your va**nal, occasionally p*eing in the pants, womb slipped down after pregnancy, and things like whether sexual health makes you feels good or in pain are all major signs about our overall pelvic health – these are all topics we need to normalize and discuss about it cause women deserve the best care.

But most important part is, let’s do more than talk about it. Let’s be about it and fix the problems by taking the first step to seek help from pelvic health professionals.

It’s time we UN-SETTLE and take charge of our pelvic health!
