Hyperthermia as a cancer treatment (also called thermal therapy) refers to the use of high temperatures to treat the disease. It may be used alone or in combination with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy or other treatments, and can be delivered locally, regionally, or to the whole body depending on the type and stage of the cancer being treated.

The logic behind its use is that in hyperthermia, the heat increases blood flow to the tumour which does three things; it brings more chemotherapy inside the tumour, it brings oxygen that helps radiation therapy work better, and it induces body’s immune system to attack the cancer

There were evidence on adjunct use of hyperthermia with either chemotherapy, radiotherapy or both. The combination of hyperthermia with these standard cancer treatments resulted in higher (complete) response rates, accompanied by improved local tumour control rates, better palliative effects, and/or better overall survival rates in many phase II/III clinical trials for many different types of tumours including head and neck, breast, bone, cervix, lung, liver, bile duct, melanoma and sarcoma.

5 foods to boost melatonin and improve sleep quality:

1. Tart cherries contain melatonin and tryptophan, which turns into serotonin and then melatonin. Research has shown that tart cherry consumption increases sleep for some people by 84 minutes!

2. Kiwis contain serotonin, a precursor to melatonin. One study found that people who consumed 2 kiwis per day for 4 weeks had a significant improvement in quality of sleep, length of sleep, the time it takes to fall asleep, and the feeling of being refreshed upon waking.

3. Fatty fish like salmon, tuna, and trout boost melatonin.

4. Kefir is similar to yogurt but has even more microbes. Try blending it with berries, which are rich in polyphenols for better sleep.

5. Sauerkraut contains microbes and tryptophan to help improve your sleep. Cabbage also increases the neurotransmitter GABA, which helps calm you down.

It’s very difficult to test for magnesium deficiency. Around 60% of your magnesium is in your bones, 39% in your soft tissue, and only 1% in your blood. A blood test is not a reliable way to determine if you have low magnesium.

Magnesium deficiency can be caused by the following factors:
• Diet
• Gut inflammation
• Diabetes
• Insulin resistance
• Excessive sugar consumption
• Vitamin D without magnesium
• Medications (antibiotics, PPIs, antacids, diuretics)

Symptoms of magnesium deficiency can include:
• Tetany
• Tight muscles
• Insomnia (sleep problems)
• Anxiety
• Fatigue
• Nystagmus
• Migraines
• Kidney stones

You need magnesium to make ATP, the “energy currency” of the body. Magnesium deficiency can also lead to calcium buildup.

Here are some of the foods that have the most magnesium per 100 grams:
1. Sea kelp: 760 mg of magnesium
2. Almonds: 490 mg of magnesium
3. Nutritional yeast: 231 mg of magnesium
4. Pecans: 142 mg of magnesium
5. Leafy greens: 100 mg of magnesium
6. Dark chocolate: 165 mg of magnesium
7. Pumpkin seeds: 265 mg of magnesium
8. Meat and fish: 25 to 35 mg of magnesium

The Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) for magnesium is 300 to 420 mg, and the average person only consumes 215 mg. If you have magnesium deficiency, increase your intake of magnesium-rich foods and supplement with 800 mg of magnesium glycinate.

It can take up to a year to fix a chronic magnesium deficiency, but you might find that your low magnesium symptoms go away in a few weeks or months. After you’ve increased magnesium levels with supplements, you can maintain it with your diet.

Always ensure you consume at least 400 mg of magnesium daily.

What is the benefit of Prolonged Fasting?
1. Regrow Brain Cells – the very specific parts of the brain including the hippocampus and the parts of the brain stem. The part of the hippocampus that has been regenerated has to do with memory.

2. Increase Mitochondria – the mitochondria are the energy factories of the body. Incredible amounts of energy will be increased when you fast.

5. Decrease Inflammation – Prolonged fasting is essential to help someone get to the root cause of inflammation and the safe way to reduce it. All autoimmune diseases involve inflammation.

6. Decrease Tumor Growth – Tumors unlikely survive in ketones and doing the ketogenic diet runs your body on ketones.

7. Increase Antioxidants – The body has an anti-oxidant network and doing prolonged fasting could cause the antioxidant levels to go up because this is where the body repairs and defends itself against microbes and other things.

- Aim to maintain weight, if weight loss, aim for progressive
weight gain

2. Consume balanced & variety of food
- fiber, carbohydrate, protein & fat.

3. Transitional texture modification
- If possible try to take normal food, taking soft food will remind
the patient they are in severe sick.

4. Maximize calories & nutrient content
- Cancer patient need extra 20-30% of energy than normal
people
