Active Manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing, is a rapidly growing technology that is revolutionising the manufacturing industry. This seminar will explore the art and science of additive manufacturing, including its history, the different types of processes involved, and the materials used.
The speaker will discuss the basics of addictive manufacturing, including the different types of processes such as Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM), Stereolithography (SLA), and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), and the materials used in each process.
The advantages and limitations of using additive manufacturing for prototyping and production will also be discussed, including creating complex geometries, reducing material waste, and customising designs. The seminar will also examine some of the latest developments in additive manufacturing technology, including the use of biodegradable and metal materials, 4D and 5D printing, and the potential for mass customisation.

The Section 13(3) of the Industrial Relations Act (IRA) provide the employers right to terminate and dismiss a workman. However, many employers seem to be totally unaware that they do not have the absolute right to terminate and dismiss a workman. Termination can be a difficult task as the employment law (Section 20, IRA) in Malaysia is generally protective of the workmen security of tenure.
The industrial relations statistics over the preceding 3 years indicates that majority of termination and dismissal cases referred to court were unjustified termination or unfair dismissal.
The employers could not properly defend most of the cases and the total compensation amount involved was more than RM250 million. The mistakes and errors not only cost the employers money but also embarrassment.
In this seminar, the speaker will describe the various types of termination of an employment contract and will discuss proactive strategies to avoid unfair terminations; and steps to terminate workmen with minimum risk if termination is unavoidable.
