To prevent fish and shrimp from eating Qu Yuan's body, the locals rowed boats to retrieve Qu Yuan's body, scattered zongzi into the river to feed the fish and shrimp, and threw lemon slices into the river, hoping that the fish and shrimp would eat the lemon slices instead of harming Qu Yuan's body.
