Why fleas are so hard to kill?

1) Fleas can sense targets' breath, warmth and even the vibration of feet, they will then jump onto targets

2) Some fleas can jump nearly 100 times farther than the length of their body, which makes them difficult to capture and kill

3) Once fleas land on targets' body, they will tear into flesh then suck up blood

4) Fleas' saliva contain special proteins that keep blood continue flowing, which is why they itch so much

5) Fleas lay up to 40 eggs daily and as many as 2,000 in their lifetimes

6) If you bring back a few fleas, you could soon have thousands

為甚麼跳蚤這麼難殺死？

1）跳蚤可以感知目標的呼吸、體溫甚至腳部的振動，然後跳到目標上

2）有些跳蚤能跳得比身體長度近100倍遠，這使得牠們很難捕捉和殺死

3）一旦跳蚤落在目標身上，牠們就會撕裂肉並吸血

4) 跳蚤的唾液含有特殊的蛋白質，可以保持血液持續流動，這就是牠們如此瘙癢的原因

Class Ib pesticide is highly poisonous, high concentration chlorpyrifos is categorised under this class.

Chlorpyrifos is an organophosphate insecticide, is used to control termites and mosquitoes.

People can be exposed to chlorpyrifos by eating them, breathing them in or getting them on the skin or in the eyes.

Exposure to small amounts of chlorpyrifos can cause runny nose, tears, and increased saliva or drooling. People may sweat, and develop headache, nausea, and dizziness. More serious exposures can cause vomiting, abdominal muscle cramps, muscle twitching, tremors and weakness, and loss of coordination. Sometimes people develop diarrhea or blurred or darkened vision. In severe poisoning cases, exposure can lead to unconsciousness, loss of bladder and bowel control, convulsions, difficulty in breathing, and paralysis.

Ib類殺蟲藥是烈性毒藥，高濃度的毒死蜱就屬於此類。

毒死蜱是一種有機磷殺蟲劑，用於控制白蟻和蚊子。

人們可能通過食用、吸入或透過皮膚或眼睛而接觸到毒死蜱。

Class Ia pesticide is the most toxic chemical group, usually contains methyl bromide or aluminium phosphide.

Methyl bromide is an odourless, colourless gas used to control a wide variety of pests in agriculture and shipping, including fungi, weeds, insects and rodents.

It dissipates rapidly to the atmosphere, it is most dangerous at the fumigation site.

Human exposure to high concentrations of methyl bromide can cause central nervous system and respiratory system failures and can harm the lungs, eyes and skin.
