Today, for the first time since its creation in 1981, Lee Broom, one of the most respected creative talents in the UK has paid tribute to the iconic Rémy Martin XO glass decanter.
Lee Broom is one of London’s top product designers and an eponymous brand recognized all over the globe as one of the most prestigious British design Houses.
This collaboration came naturally thank to the synergy between two brands – seamless perfection, uniqueness, heritage and craft yet still modern and contemporary.
The designer injects the iconic XO decanter with a distinctive edge by carving hundreds of fine ‘starburst’ cuts into the indents of its solar shape. Each cut symbolizes one of the many eaux-de-vie within the Rémy Martin XO blend. Inspired by icicles, they not only amplify the radiance and opulence of the blend, but the fabulous array of aromas revealed with the addition of a single ice cube too.

November is 'Old Fashioned Month' and so creations with bourbon and whisky are all the rage. There are few drinks that suit a chilly autumn day as well as this concoction made from smoky bourbon, sugar, bitters and orange peel.
“When bartenders in the 1870s and 1880s began adding embellishments to their Whiskey Cocktails, some customers rebelled against the innovations,” preferring the traditional version and thus ordering “old-fashioned whiskey cocktails” instead. “That name was eventually shortened to Old-Fashioned.”

And I found the same thing in making drinks - listening and sharing stories along with the drinks. Each flavour has its own story, each classic cocktail has its own history. What history do you have with a drink?”

“Hi I’m jason! After 4 years in the pharma-healthcare industry, I found my true calling mixing drinks. Started 2019 as a bartender in one of the Malaysia Asia Top 50 bar 2021 & coached by David Hans. Now currently a Bar Manager in a humble bar called Ikiya 2.0 in TTDI, Kuala Lumpur. Proud winner of the Giffard West Cup 2022 Malaysia Finals, I'm all about perfecting classics with a dash of simple scientific theory. I make cocktails with a pinch of sarcasm and a whole lot of fun.
