โThe use of e-signatures has become increasingly popular due to the growth in electronic commerce and advancements in technology which propel the idea to go paperless especially in the midst of a Movement Control Order when procuring a wet ink signature is not without difficulty.
E-signatures do not, however, seem to have been prevalent outside the arena of e-commerce. One of the major concerns of using e-signatures in legal transactions is whether documents signed electronically are valid, enforceable and have legal effect in Malaysia. The webinar seeks to answer some of the common questions raised when considering the use of e-signaturesโ.

Partner and Head of Technology, Multimedia & Telecommunications Division Raja, Daryl & Loh
Tong Lai Ling heads the Technology, Multimedia & Telecommunications(TMT) division in the Intellectual Property & Technology practice group at Messrs Raja, Darryl & Loh, Kuala Lumpur.
She works with a range of clients in the TMT sector, advising on commercial issues and drafting and negotiating IT and telecommunication contracts. She also advises clients on a variety of industries on compliance with cyber laws as well as the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Of late, Lai Ling has been advising on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.
The Asia Legal Pacific 500, in its 2021 edition enrolled Lai Ling in its Hall of Fame, having in previous years listed her as a Leading Individual in TMT. She has also been ranked highly by
Chambers Asia Pacific in its 2019 - 2021editions. AsiaLaw Profiles named her as a Distinguished Practitioner in its 2021 edition.
