Saturday 22/6/24 was an exciting and experiencing day as it was my first time participating the booth sale at Tenby International School Tropicana Aman. Took me a week preparing, baking and making the necessary desserts. Thanks all customers that were there and given me support buying my desserts etc. Not forgetting thanks to my dil’s cousin who shared the link to my son where the booths were opened to public.

Finally done the wrapping for the last batch of Rum Fruit cakes.

The home baked Rum Fruit cakes already out by batches. Thanks to my dear friends, relatives and family members for supporting me . I am very grateful and blessed for assisting this small time business. Praise God too for giving me the strength and encouragement to challenge on.

I was really overjoyed that I have baked quite a lot of Mooncake biscuits aka Gongzai pian this year. Even the traditional Mooncakes , I baked for friends and family.

Hi all,
Mooncake/ Mid Autumn Festival just about 28 days away (29/9/23).
I’m baking the traditional mooncake biscuits aka gongzai pian/ Kung chai pian / the doll mooncake biscuits.

These biscuits are nothing more than crust of traditional baked mooncakes.

Texture will be soft and moist after resting in airtight container at least 3 or more days . The oil inside will seeps out/ infuses into the outer layer. The skin will be glossy and shiny too.

Let’s get a box or two to taste the little sweet snack. Happens only once a year .

The gift box of 6 pieces , weight per piece (+-30 gm each) wrapping individually and cost rm11.50

Weather rather bad these days, raining so heavily.
Double boiler homemade pandan kaya following the recipe from travel food tech.
Very tasty and yummy .
I baked some kaya puffs for the first time and it’s good and flaky too.
Self praise is no praise , waiting for my kids to try out and give comments. 🤣🤣🤣

Weekend steaming the gula Melaka cake aka Soong Gao using Ayu moulds. Very soft and nice . My mum likes the taste as it’s not that sweet. My Singapore brother who visited our mother likes the soft steamed kuih too and requested for the recipe. 👍

Missing some posts as was busy these days as well lazy too.
Yesterday baked some potatoes chicken curry pies for brekkie . Kept some in fridge for other days .
Homemade LMK . This time I added more garlic and tasted yummy .

Molten Lava cheese tarts

Simple Achar . Spicy sweet pickled vegetables and pineapple.
Just shallots, red chillies, lemongrass , ground turmeric and belachan . I added dried chillies. Not forgetting the vinegar and sugar too.

CNY has ended and today is the 16th day. Tested out steaming mandarin orange shaped buns are not that easy as the natural color seem not orange enough.
Used mandarin orange and carrot purée. Fillings are homemade Tau sar.

Today free to do one of my favourites. Yummy YAM CAKE (Wu Tau Ko) and is my second attempts. Years ago I steamed with my own try and error recipe.
Today hopefully this recipe is good and will be my keeper.

Kept my rum fruit cake baked on 17/1/23 for CNY . Sliced today CNY 11 , really yummy . The longer it’s kept wrapped up after feeding with rum several times the taste is so much better . The mixed fruits to be soaked in rum for weeks before baking.
