🏀✨ Wow, the month of May - June has been an incredibly productive and positive week in sports for KIS students, particularly for those who have been participating in MSSD (Majlis Sukan Sekolah- Sekolah Daerah) and MSSS (Majlis Sukan Sekolah Sabah) events. Making history, our U18 girls basketball team clinched 3rd Place after a thrilling 64-48 victory over Kian Kok! 🏆🔥 Meanwhile, our U18 boys team fought valiantly, reaching the quarterfinals after two incredible wins, missing the semis by just one point! 🙌

What’s even more impressive? The average age of our basketball teams is under 14, hinting at an even brighter future ahead! 🌟

A huge shoutout to our talented students in table tennis, archery, and gymnastics for taking on the MSSS challenge with fierce determination and skill! 🎯🏓🤸‍♀️

This time Ms Beresford, Head of Key Stage 3, will be presenting all about how to support student learning at home, and how to help your child manage their homework. Collaboration between home and school can only be a good thing, and we hope to see many parents at this event.

Julia,16 started her diving journey with PADI at age 8 and is now a Junior Rescue Diver course and certified PADI Basic Freediver. Diving has helped Julia to find her passion in conserving the ocean, which caused her to create the Seed of Hope , a platform she cultivated to raise awareness through interviews and to raise funds for ocean causes.

They will be taking on 4 other schools from Tuesday in various events such as swimming, foootball, basketball and track & field over 4 days. This is only one of the many opportunities that KIS offers its students beyond the four walls of the classroom.

" I think many people consider themselves computer/internet savvy, but as parents we often are “outsmarted” by our children, sometimes with damaging results for them. Mr. Denyer and Mr. Beresford gave us good information to improve our cyber safety skills for the benefit of our children and families. I had never heard of some of the social media platforms they mentioned and was very happy to learn, for example, that the KIS WIFI has automatic restrictions on what the children can surf. They also made us aware of some of the behavioural signs the kids may show if they are having problems related to the use of internet. Overall, it was lively morning with many questions from us. We left the room feeling better about the school’s interventions and more empowered to deal with the risks associated with online activity. Thank you, Mr. B. and Mr D.! "

For the past 12 weeks the students have been doing a splendid job covering all 9 chapters on the Cambridge Marine Science A Level. Now is the time to sharpen the pencils and put the work on to paper and nail the examinations in Kota Kinabalu at

The first 3 papers will be done in the coming 2 weeks. After the students will be doing the famous road trip through Borneo to see the Orangutans 🦧 Pygmy Elephants 🐘 Probiscis Monkeys 🙉 , Crocodiles 🐊 and much more!

From April 22nd to April 26th, we're celebrating with a lineup of eco-friendly activities. 🌍 Starting with teachers integrating environmental lessons on Monday, April 22nd, we will dive into discussions about sustainability in classrooms. This will be followed by;

🚙🚙'Take a Lift Tuesday: Promoting car-sharing and workshops with NGOs for secondary and Primary students.

💚💚'Waste Less Wednesday: We bid farewell to single-use plastics in our cafeterias.

👕🩳'Thrifty Thursday' : We will challenge fast fashion habits with our Swap Shop event!

🌱🌱Finally, on Friday let's fight food waste with 'Food Waste Fighting Friday,' where we will also unveil our new composter!
