Who loves a museum/art gallery gift shop? We do! 💁🏻‍♀️😍

We’re delighted to be part of ‘The Back Room Shop’ alongside many other creatives. This also marks the first time we’re collaborating with the KL-based gallery! We’ll be selling all of our art prints (including lots of new ones!) from this Friday, 7th Jan until the end of the month - swing by! 👋🏽💙💚

Super stoked to have Malaysian photographer/graphic designer on board here at Outlet! The series of postcard prints we have for sale is titled ‘Child’s Play’, available to buy individually for RM8 or a whole set of 8 for RM50. Speaking of the series, Fareez says:

“‘Child’s Play’ is an ode to the inner child. An expression to see the simple and mundane things of everyday life with imagination and naivety. A trait we have in us always but often oppressed by the expectations of adulthood. Observing life’s outlook shouldn’t always be as difficult as we make it out to be.”

‘Buat Rumah Sendiri’ is an installation by graphic artist is currently on display at the store in Bangsar Village II - each installation piece is also for sale for those who are interested. 👀

Conceptualised during the pandemic, being forced to stay indoors giving the phrase “make yourself at home” or “Buat Rumah Sendiri” a totally different meaning.

The significance of the interlocking plastic chains is like a metaphor for the past two pandemic years - we are all connected and responsible for putting and end to this virus with everyone playing their part. Sherwan produced familiar household objects using the plastic chains for the installation like lamps and vases as a reminder of being home.

Each installation piece is available for sale so do not miss this opportunity to own your one of a kind art works by the artist.

OUTLET collab: Afi Sulaiman is a 24 year old artist that wants to bring awareness to the people around her regarding the importance of food culture through the appreciation of art. In the words of the artist, her art will always be for the young and hungry and the young-at-heart, to feel a sense of nostalgia and innocence in this big scary world.

Our exclusive collaboration with the artist is titled ‘Psychdelocal Fruits’—a series of four fruity prints (A4 size) available to buy exclusively on OUTLET.

• Sherwan Rozan (b. 1989) is a self-taught Graphic Artist from Johor Bahru, Malaysia. After graduating with a Marketing Communication Degree (Hons) in Kuala Lumpur, he has worked in various industries such as e-commerce merchandising and fashion retailing before starting out his art career back in 2015. Along the way, he naturally discovered and developed his own voice in art that would eventually establish his journey to pursuing art professionally.

Sherwan is drawn to overlooked details in spaces, structures and objects that would otherwise seem mundane, contemplating these trivialities and conceptually constructing them as his subjects in an almost compulsive manner to bring into being his own abstract interpretation.

His body of work is mainly digital, but he continuously looks for other mediums to materialise his works. Sherwan has produced numerous art prints, murals, merchandise collaborations and has worked with countless clients, brands and companies, both locally and internationally.
