Light scratches, no matter how bad they look, reach only into the clear coat of the vehicle. They have not penetrated through to the base or primer and can usually be removed with proper detailing techniques.

After removing the hubcap, loosen the nuts using the level end of your lug wrench and APPLY YOUR BODY WEIGHT (you can stand on it and put pressure to loosen it.) Turn it counterclockwise, but remember not to remove the lug nuts completely.
