Back in April this year I drew a piece simply called The Kebaya Girl.

Today, almost 3 months later,
I just met her.

The Gods of Art and All Things Beautiful ... they work in mysterious ways!

Art is on my mind today. Specifically my art at an art market. Come join me!

And so this beautiful gypsy maiden stares into her crystal ball.

But the enigmatic vision she seeks is not for herself … it’s for you. Gazing deep into the past and gazing even deeper into the future, this magical translucent orb she holds in the palm of her hand reveals much more than you can possibly imagine.

The crystal ball is no mere sphere of glass, ladies and gentlemen. It is in fact a mirror. A mirror that reflects much more than your reflection, much more than your appearance, much more than your expression.

It is a mirror that reveals who you truly are, who you truly were and and who you will truly be. A mirror of magic and mystery. A mirror of truth, and lies, and everything in between.

And what a mirror it is!

Liz begs for Hellboy to be saved.
She stands infront of an eyeless demonic figure pleading for mercy. Pleading for her love to be saved. Pleading for the sorrow in her heart to be taken away, so she may feel peace again.

And so this strange being grants her compassion and saves her beloveds life. He grants her the one thing that would bring calm to her her soul and told her … “I have done what I can, now give him a reason to live,”

Such is perhaps the greatest irony of life is that after all the pain and despair we human beings go through in our existence on planet earth longing for inner peace in our heart,it is the angel of death who eventually gives us, just before we breath our last breath, a sense of inner peace that we were longing for all our lives.

Death, thy name is peace,
Inner peace.

And so it’s diver from a bygone era decided to go for a walk. He slowly lowered himself on the jagged surface of the seabed below, thinking to take a walk in an aquatic wonderland.

But lo and behold, a tentacled monster appears, out of the deep deep blue that surrounds them both. What’s going to happen to our unfortunate wanderer in his metal skin? Will he remain oblivious to the denizen just around the corner or will he attempt a daring escape? We’ll never know for sure I guess.

So remember folks, if you decide to go diving and swim downstream to saunter the wonders of the deep, do take notice of the aliens lurking in those same deep waters … especially if one of them decides to go … swimming upstream!

And so the bond between a falconer and his beloved falcon is a cherished bond indeed. Man and beast, connected by a friendship that knows no words and remains solemn till the day an untimely death takes one of them away.

So lovely this magnificent bird, with its feathers of white and black, so loyal her soul to her master, so loyal her heart to his will. Truly she’ll remain by his side for as long as she can, for she clearly appreciates his presence, who offers both compassion and mercy.

And why should she ever leave him anyway? For his is the hand that shelters her, the hand that shows her kindness and t he hand that offers her a morsel or two when she is famished.

And unlike the intrinsic nature of so many human beings, her faithfullness is unquestionable. For as long as he is around to offer her mind, body and soul nourishment, she’ll remain perched on his hand … Never to leave the hand that feeds.

And so this creature roams the jungles looking for prey to slaughter. Centuries, he searches for victims to kill and skin, both for pleasure and for combat. For pain and for competition.

But even as he oozes fluorescent green blood from his skull, he continues. Continues to hunt and kill, to stalk and murder. No amount of obstacles hinders his path, and he remains determined, no matter how battle worn he gets. A warrior for the ages.

And yeah, that’s one ugly mother ….

Let me tell you of the tale of Esmeralda.

She was a shy, timid little darling of a senyorita I met in Barcelona years ago when I was sauntering across the seashores of the Mediterranean. She spoke quietly, and clearly she preferred to keep to herself, especially in the company of strangers.

But then she rose, and sashayed towards the direction of a performance arena. And she burst into a passionate frenzy. She danced and electrified the atmosphere with her zeal, and any trace of shyness he may have possessed disappeared into the ether.

Clearly, this was her true calling. To perform. She may choose to remain humble in your presence, but once graced the stage, she revealed her true self. Tranquil and fiery all at once. And that performance … well, it was smooth sailing all the way.

Do you remember that one Christmas years ago when a small quiet town was overrun by the craziest of little monsters that loved to eat after midnight and had an affinity for water to make more of these little monsters?

Remember the most cantankerous one of them all, with that glorious white mane on his scaly head?
Merry merry Christmas in advance, folks!

Be like Darth Vader.

He was a man who lost everything. He first lost his mother, and eventually his lover and his children. Betrayed by the Order that was entrusted with guiding him. Betrayed by the ideals he was taught to aspire to. And betrayed by the mentor who abandoned him on the shores of burning, hellish planet.

But even after being burned alive, even after his bones and skin were left crispy and scorched, he rose. He rose to take his place by the side by his emperor and became the the most feared Sith Lord of his time. Such was his legacy, such was his spirit.

No wonder his grandson admired him and his legend lives on. Rising from the ashes of treachery, he rose, and none of the pain he felt forced him to surrender and move on.

Such was his power. Be like Darth Vader.
Long live the Empire!

Both heroes.

Well happy to say my tribute to Van Gogh has found its new home. Another piece of mine has found a new home.

So another one of my babies gets sold.

Back during the holy month, I took part in a challenge that required 30 pieces of art to be prepared. By far the most popular piece produced at the time was this one .. called Stars in the Night, that clearly was a humble tribute to the tortured soul we know and love as Van Gogh.

Was thrilled to have received requests to buy the work, but only prints can be considered. And so here we are. And I’m pretty satisfied I must say.

I'm a happy artist.
