Day 5 Positive Impacts Week 2024 lesson: Circular Economy

We invited Alam Flora Environmental Solutions (AFES) specialists to conduct an Environmental Sustainability awareness talk focusing on Sustainable Waste Management.

We have also embarked on a long-term collaboration with AFES, appointing them to collect waste materials from our hotel to be sent for recycling and repurposing. Today, a total of 240kg worth of used cooking oil and other recyclables were collected, with more to come.
As this week draws to a close, we pledge to continue our sustainable practices and embrace sustainable living.

Day 4 Positive Impacts Week 2024 lesson: We all live on the same planet and the health of it is in our hands. 🌎 ♻️ With the mantra of ‘Think Globally, Act Locally’, we collaborated with Alam Flora Environmental Solutions (AFES) for 3R on Wheels, a recyclable collection drive at our hotel. With the Alam Flora truck parked outside, we hopped aboard with 570kg total waste from the hotel converted to cash, and on their way to be recycled. By supporting this programme, we play our part in diverting more solid waste from ending up in landfills, thus reducing environmental pollution.

Day 3 of Positive Impacts Week 2024 coincides with World Environment Day! 🌍 🌱 Today, we’re embracing the theme ‘Life Is Not Plastic, It’s Green Fantastic’. Dorsett Kuala Lumpur has taken a stand to implement zero-plastic bottles with water filtration in all guestrooms, glass carafes in function rooms, water dispensers in public areas and eco wheat tumblers as giveaways. Eco—friendly to-go boxes are provided for F&B takeaway.

Our associates were also treated to a special luncheon at the cafeteria, encouraging them to bring their own non-plastic plates and bowls.
