A wedding to remember!

The bespoke slatted wooden backdrop seamlessly connects the KL city skyline to the ceremony ground, while the rounded tops give it a fun and retro 70’s vibe, bringing this 100-year-old colonial mansion back to yesteryear.

Neon, string lights, and candles add a romantic glow as the sun sets.

Wait, that sheath bouquet though! We’re not sure we could be more obsessed with this rare tawny brown orchid.

White Craspedia in varying lengths provide so much wattage that they benefit from the quieting effect of beige-colored pampas grasses.

A string of wood bead trails echoes these little white buttons, and it is just as integral to the look of the bouquet as the flowers themselves, totally perfect for this boho beauty.

The taller, the better.

A tall blossom tree was adorned with Phalaenopsis and coordinating blooms for a natural centerpiece on the sweetheart table that seamlessly connected with the garden setting in the Glasshouse.

In addition to the twin baby’s-breath garlands that enliven the upper section of the chuppah, the ceremonial ground is embellished with fresh blossoms, accentuated by the arched design of the baby’s-breath clouds, creating a strong visual continuity of the principal concept throughout the set.
These garlands and arrangements forming wavy, curved lines transform the space into a dreamy garden setting for this cross-cultural wedding.

A gallery of circles, carefully positioned and installed, forms the base of this floral sculpture.

Space and rhythm among all the floral rings are key factors in the overall balance of this composition.

The geometrical aspect, combined with the natural course of various vivid colours blooms and foliage, gives it an enchanting aura that delights the guests.

An all-botanic expression in which all materials display the light, delicate, and pastel colours of spring and earth.

Hellebores are the gentlest of flowers, with their nodding heads that hide away the subtle blend of colours within their petals.

Nature and human beings are blooming and hoping for a brighter sun and future.

Mix the big and blousy with the small and intricate, the pale with the dark, and the vintage with the contemporary.

Just a pair of these rustic, generous flower arrangements would set the tone for the day.

These arrangements are not about fiddling with little details, they are about setting a mood and creating a moody colour palette from deepest red blacks all the way through to white, which are perfect for this wedding and venue.

To create this Nordic vibe arrangement, we begin with a leafless magnolia branch in bud, sturdy and well developed, followed by Calla lilies.

As well as having a flawless Art Deco-style elegance, Calla lilies are truly classic, thanks to their sleek, architectural good looks.

The Calla lilies have been arranged to fall in different directions to give interest and movement to the composition.

Unique vases, candle holders, and modern table lamps added a contemporary accent to this minimal yet very effective tablescape.

Although subtle, it conveys an element of sweet surprise to those guests who are viewing through the circle vases.

It was swaying in the gentle breeze. It looks like the first glimpse of spring.

The combination of woody stems with all the tendrils that go in a million directions makes it poetic and romantic. They were absent of bigger blooms, but they gave us the height and drama we craved.

It is the Spirea thunbergii, always deliciously wild and beautiful, whether standing alone or arranged with others, as there is enough stature and grace that it will make a statement at a wedding wherever it is placed.

When we are trying towards sustainable floristry and open our minds to previously unconsidered vessels that are wildly unconventional, suddenly the choices become expansive—endless, even.

Flowers may be tied, leaning against, or suspended within the clearly defined boundaries of a vessel.

The overall effect is free and spacious, as floral materials are freed from the confines of a floral foam.

Water, where it is needed, is subtly introduced into the round, shallow trays of the vessels with novelty black center daisy blossoms afloat and encircling, providing a miniature contemplation feature for this bridal table.

We erected a thin truss system overhead to form multi-span arches across the stage area, with the highest point of the arrangement as if free-floating nearly 4 meters off the ground.

We clothe the structures with Cyperus papyrus and Licuala grandis leaves in fan-like shapes. To these we festooned with fresh Phalaenopsis, anthurium, sprays of saffron Aranthera orchids in bundles, Japonica, and pendulous of amaranths to give this wedding arches a light and airy feel.

These arches served as a counterpoint to the lush greenery inside and outside the Glasshouse.

In these free-style flower arrangements, the main line is a long, stretching stem of Areca palm with a few leaves left at the tip. It is positioned horizontally just below the mass of Phalaenopsis orchids, adding linear amusement to the arrangement. Its near-leafless state is a way of creating a visual flow and adding to the air of frivolity.

Because the bridal table is, as usual, placed on the same ceremony ground, we only have less than ten minutes to turnover, so we are working at a rapid pace.

Now that we need to style the table among cutlery and glassware, we shift and turn around the edge of the table with a lot of ‘Excuse me’, ‘Excuse me’ to the catering staff, trying to complete it before the tableware is full.

This asymmetrical centerpiece made use of big Licuala grandis palms and other coordinating leaves, with a few bunches of Cyperus papyrus to imbue it with movement. It also managed to add breathing space in between the focus flowers.
We like to include the roots as well, which are not usually used in flower arrangements. It draws your attention as something unique and organic but doesn’t look out of place in this environment.

The brick wall in Glasshouse, decorated with tropical greenery and flowers, creates a sumptuous botanical backdrop that looks just right for the space and this wedding.

To complete this twin sculptural piece, the middle part of the wall displays different neon lights for both photo booth and tea ceremony purposes, respectively.

First impressions last, no matter how large or small, a wedding welcome sign surrounded by fresh flowers is hard to beat.

Some Cyperus papyrus and Crocosmia add height and contribute to the different perspective of this arrangement when viewed from the landing above.

Cascading down themselves dramatically, it brings this staircase to life. These natural posers indeed help create a warm welcome for guests.

We absolutely love this flamboyant, dramatic arch for its striking asymmetry and vertigo of colours—blue, orange, and some sage greens. The colour tone that this combination of flowers possesses reminds us of ‘Dance’ by Fauvism painter Henri Matisse.

The arrangement is a true scene-stealer, sitting proudly in front of the black marble wall. We can’t think of anything more perfect for this prime location, which was suggested by Priscilia.

The upside-down placement of the Physalis shown here allows the various sized fruit to be concentrated, inviting us to look up at the bright orange heart shapes dangling from the branches. They present a very different aspect from their natural growth on a tree.

The trailing tendrils or soft branches are one of the most beautiful parts of the plant. It’s poetic, and it’s the prettiest bit, and there is gracefulness in that; it adds lightness and surprises.

The evening had a sense of mystery and discovery conveyed by a dramatic, long tablescape.

Held in place by metal structures, multiple bundles of reedmace float above the long dining tables. These linear leaves are softened by taking full advantage of the natural force of gravity and highlighted to great effect.

Burgundy and rusty-coloured flowers parade along the tables, creating a visual flow and colour rhythm. Using a limited colour palette and repetitive shapes produces a calm and reassuring effect.

The end result is an unexpected, rustic yet elegant floral display that fills the ballroom with a giddily exuberant mass of horizontal green.

Some people see the world in lines, grids and graphs. But we are among those people who see the world in circles—infinite, eternal, and forever.

Circular form creates depth and distance; all angles are focal points.

This 5-foot circular centerpiece for the bridal table provided an opportunity for floral drama. It was bedecked with a profusion of amaranthus and burnt-orange leaves. The deep vermilion veins of maple leaves especially fascinated us and filled our hearts with wonder.

A few tall, cascading Phalaenopsis, showing off its full blooms of flowers, are the focus of the arrangement. Surrounding it are other vividly colored flowers that exude the energy of autumn.

We wanted the centerpiece to feel as if it were having the best party ever—its very own silent disco.

We like to push ourselves out of the comfort zone of what we have been taught about flowers and how and where they should be.

On these long guest tables, the rare and almost black Magical Dark Ruby Hydrangea paired with sexy burgundy Amaranthus and waxy orchid leaves set an elegant rustic tone.

We also enjoy adding textural or unconventional elements to our flower arrangements. The grouping baby eggplants here adds subtle interest or delicate, whimsical moments to the arrangements; its purplish-mauve hue takes the hydrangea to a new vernacular and gives it a different vibe and emotional quantity- there’s something interesting about using things that are not on the list.

Perhaps always think about what is beautiful rather than what is proper, which is well suited to the current floristry trend .

Cosmos is called "Autumn Cherry" in a popular Japanese song, and the spectacular view of this flower growing in the fields is every bit as lovely as cherry blossoms in spring.

Here, their translucent and fragile beauty almost floats at the top of their elegantly bending and undulating springy stems in a harmonizing green, inviting guests to look at them carefully in order to understand the interesting posture of these almost smiling flowers.

The silver birch gives the arrangement even more presence. We love the contrasting textures, from the rough bark to the furry bolmoss to the fluffy smoke bush.

When we captured these miniature tablescapes, we found a quote that speaks to us: ‘If you are looking at a mass of flowers in the sunlight out of doors, you see a sparkle of spots of different colors,' as Frederick Frieseke highlighted, ‘then paint them that way’.

We like to think that the way he painted each bloom to best express his Impressionist style is akin to the way we now turn each bloom to find its most meaningful angle and use our camera to explore all sides of its beauty.

While we were trying to take a good photo, one of the bride’s pets, called Georgie, meowed restlessly, wanting to be let outside. So we requested to sit her on the sofa as a model, although she was attempting to seize an opportunity to explore with the floral arrangement above.

The flower arrangements for this engagement ceremony are almost natural in their beauty, allowing us to gaze unencumbered at the temporary serenity that rests on each flower, retaining an aura of honest realism just like the enormous painting behind it, through which it summons the genuine beauty of simple things - it is thrilling to see this all tie in beautifully.

Nature merges into art as the bridal bouquet is positioned with the contemporary painting in Saida's home. Rays of light in the painting add a touch of whimsy, as if the bouquet is shining under the spotlight.

The colours of the painting are dynamic and energizing, with vibrant shades of blue and acid green, much like the bridal bouquet itself.

The pastel lilac pink of the bouquet is in good contrast with the blue of the painting, while the vivid green foliage echoes the acid green and adds a dynamic flourish to an otherwise tonal feel.

“Once upon a time, a single drop of sunlight fell from the heavens, and from this small drop of sun grew a magic golden flower...

There is no golden flower in nature, yet all natural colours are indeed magical in their own right, especially from flowers and plants. On this bridal table, the rich, deep chocolate brown of the Cymbidium, then the pale beige Lege Marrone carnation, and the pearly white Madonna Lilies with a green undertone—all these earthy colours are enthralling and irreplaceable by artificial flowers.

Clumps of Spanish moss drape off the weathered wood -sculpted by time and pierced by beetles and birds. This combination has a sort of curious charm that attracts a viewer’s attention, which evokes an image where Rapunzel unfurls her lengthy locks, draping them out the tower's window.

It is less common to have moss or epiphyte as the main material in western-style arrangements, but by letting it play a leading role, the beauty of flowers can only be visible to all.

… flower gleam and glow, let your powers shine, may their love and affection grow, with arms forever entwined. "

Entrance areas can easily set the tone for everything to come; the welcome signage is the ideal conversation starter at the entry to a dinner, so that arriving guests are encouraged to strike up discussions on, for example, the breathtakingly gorgeous fresh flower arrangement of the welcome signage.

This is the place to pull out all the stops, and we bedecked it with bunches of Spanish moss and Bolmoss, masses in abundance, that entirely covered the top and bottom parts of the metal standee. As if the magical dark, wet green forest were draped with living silver-grey Usnea lichen.

Building a life-size floral arrangement or creating an installation is very much like painting; we typically build our pieces in order, each step intuitively dictating the next.

In some ways, maximalism is trickier than minimalism, but it is worth the effort in order to make the night unforgettable.

The Didiscus caerulea exceeded our wildest expectations and was more than appropriate for this forest-themed wedding in the grand ballroom of EQ.

It is very photogenic; its undulating lines conjure up the image of tree branches in the woodland where Rapunzel leaves the tower. They speak for themselves without the need for complicated arranging, just paired with a small, precious bloom of Cymbidium and a touch of Oncidium petals nestled on fresh bolmoss, as if the epitome of forest were on each table.

Repeating an image in this way on all guest tables makes a display graphically strong and impressive, especially when illuminated by spotlights to striking effect.

For a long time, Oncidium orchid was only available in yellow in the cut flower market, but now more subtle colours are on sale, including burgundy, white, and brown. It’s due to the fact that the flower industry is now advised by the same people who guide fashion and interior design companies on trend, texture, and colour.

And because the rare cognac-beige colour of Oncidium Catante Los Robles in this bridal bouquet hasn't been widely produced commercially, the bouquet would be a far cry from the ordinary.

For balance and a bit of soft, gentle femininity, we instinctively paired the bouquet with the lovely trail of Spanish moss in order to echo this tangled-inspired and forestry-themed wedding.

Hot bright days yield hot bright colors- too-sunny yellows, garish oranges, fuchsia blousy peonies, coral Smoke Bush, candy pink sweet peas with no blush, and neon green grapes conceal floral foam. These colours make it into our arrangements sparingly, or never.

The twin arrangements for the bridal table push the boundaries of traditional flower arranging by disrespecting a conventional colour palette and showing no respect for the odd number rule; they are successful in their mini flower revolution.

Traditionally, flower arrangements have had only one focal point, or "centre of growth”, as it is known in European floristry. Over the last twenty years or so, however, floral designs that have adapted well for weddings or events have evolved that have two or more points of interest.

The base of this floral arrangement is the centre of its growth and the main focal area, but the eye is also drawn up to the curvy inflorescence of the tall, arching stems of Montbretia. On the other hand, the stinging, acid yellow of the fennel flower is something of a marvel; tiny and bright flower heads on vivid green stalks seem to explode like extravagant fireworks.

This is the perfect display for the intimate guest tables, it is intricate and sophisticated without being obstructive - beckoning you to delight in their incredible beauty whilst also offering a note of vitality and joy.
