Floorboard out!
Most often, rust don't do damage. Shortcuts and bad welding jobs by previous welders makes the rust spread like cancer.
Reinforce the body frame while we do the repairs on the car. Nothing should run off alignment.
Doors out. Original blue paint visible. Running boards needs lots of work. The rebuilding of an icon. Truly worth.

Proper sheet metal work.
Corona Mark II Hardtop Coupe.
As the Corona Mark II evolved into the second generation in January 1972, its wagon lineup was also reinforced, with all models coming in the Deluxe grade and newly equipped with either a 2-liter (18R) or a 1.7-liter (6R) engine. Both engines could be combined with either a 3-speed manual transmission with a column shifter, a 4-speed manual transmission with a floor shifter, or a 3-speed automatic. The van succeeded the rigid axle leaf spring rear suspension from its predecessor, whereas the wagon employed the same coil spring rear suspension as the one used in the sedan and coupé models.
It was manufactured in the Motomachi plant, Kanto Auto Works,Ltd.
This Piece of art was manufactured in the Motomachi Plant in Aichi, Japan. The Toyopet brand name was chosen in a public naming competition. The various meanings of "Mark" are the same as in English (target, grade, fame). "Corona Mark II" can be taken to mean that the car is both "the second-generation model" and "an upgraded version" of the Corona.
The second-generation Corona Mark II that came out in January 1972 significantly departed from the first-generation models in appearance, with the 4-door sedan and hardtop models adopting semi-fastback and fastback styling, respectively. The lineup included 4-door sedan, 2-door hardtop, wagon, and 4-door van models. The pickup was not renewed, however, and its first-generation models remained in production.
The second-generation Corona Mark II offered, in addition to the models fitted with 4-cylinder engines, the L series that came with 6-cylinder engines. The L series extended the front of the 4-cylinder models to house a 2,000 cc inline 6-cylinder SOHC engine (Type M) for the Crown, while adopting original front and rear styling. The engines for the 4-cylinder models included a legacy 1.7-liter unit (6R) and a 2-liter unit (18R) that enlarged the displacement of the previous 1.9-liter engine.
The rigid axle leaf spring system of the rear suspension was replaced with a 4-link coil spring system with a lateral rod. The second-generation model also reduced emissions and boosted fuel economy. In October 1975, both 4- and 6-cylinder versions of the 2-liter engines excluding the 2000 DOHC (18R-G) met the 1975 emission standards, and the production of the GSS model that carried the 18R-G engine was discontinued. In June 1976, a 4-cylinder 2,000 cc engine (18R-U) satisfied the 1976 emission standards.
