The Curtin E-FacT presents John Curtin Weekend 2019: Grand Outreach

Hey guys, The Grand Outreach is back!🥳 this program allows you to experience new things and form new bonds with new people with the passion for volunteering. The Grand Outreach is a collaboration with Curtin University Malaysia under John Curtin Weekend.

This program is designed to help students to get out of their comfort zone and connect with other people with different backgrounds and culture whilst facilitating schoolchildren aged 10 to 12. Our goal is to facilitate young children from rural areas to enhance their English, confidence, motivation and to change their mindset of how important higher education is.

Do visit our booth at the LT Foyer this week for registration! We truly hope our tuition free week can be filled with lasting memories and meaningful impact😉

Established on 16th May 1994, Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak (YPS) is a non-profit organisation set-up to undertake, promote, advance or pursue any programme, project or activity that will preserve, enhance and strengthen the unity, harmony and peaceful coexistence of the various multi-racial or multi-ethnic communities in the State of Sarawak and within the Federation of Malaysia.

YPS aims to engage the Sarawak youths in activities that enhance their understanding and appreciation of each other’s cultural heritage, as well as value the hard work and sacrifices that the elders have given to ensure that they enjoy unity, harmony and peace in their midst. They also organise Camp United which is an annual camp, targeting students from both local and private universities or colleges aimed at fostering the spirit of unity in our society. Through intensive outdoor and indoor activities, the camp will allow participants to be developed physically, mentally and emotionally. The programme will emphasis on character building and the imparting of crucial moral values in hopes to guide and motivate the youth to be agents of change within their own communities. Not forgetting Sarawak Forestry as well for sponsoring the Grand Outreach. SARAWAK FORESTRY was established by the State Government to position Sarawak at the forefront of sustainable forest management and conservation, as outlined in Sarawak Forestry Corporation Ordinance, approved by the State Legislative Assembly in 1995. Registration Fee is now FREE !!!
In order to lighten up the cost, we have decided not to charge any registration fees onto any participants from universities outside of Sarawak.
So now once you have arrived in Miri, you will be covered throughout the event days on accommodation, meal, transport and activity materials for free of charge!
