Assam Belai, a nothern accent of Malay word, Assam Pedas. A favourite dishes among the Penang and The Northern States Strait Chinese (Peranakan) family. Full of aroma from the infusion of mixture of herbs and spices with a very tangy kick of Tamarind juice. This dish is never wrong with fish/ fish head, prawns/ shrimps or even crabs.

If you love Assam Laksa, then this Assam Belai could be your another prefered dish in you bucket list.
