PUSAT PENGAJIAN SAINS FARMASI TERIMA ANUGERAH 5 DAUN DALAM PENARAFAN PEJABAT HIJAU/DESASISWA HIJAU USM 2024

Pusat Pengajian Sains Farmasi telah mendapat penarafan 5 daun dan turut menerima hadiah saguhati di dalam Majlis Penarafan Pejabat Hijau yang telah dijalankan di Dewan Budaya USM pada 30 Oktober 2024.
Merujuk kepada ucapan aluan Timbalan Naib Canselor, Jaringan Industri dan Masyarakat, Prof. Dr. Azlan Amran, beliau berharap agar program pejabat hijau / desasiswa hijau ini akan dilaksanakan lagi pada tahun 2025 dengan versi baharu yang akan memberi impak yang lebih baik kepada USM. Beliau menyatakan asas penubuhan program pejabat ini adalah untuk memberi pendedahan dan pembudayaan kepada warga USM dan kelestarian akan menjadi DNA kepada USM.
Di dalam ucapan perasmian yang disempurnakan oleh YBhg, Naib Canselor, Professor Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed beliau menegaskan usaha ini adalah langkah penting dalam memastikan USM terus memacu ke arah kecemerlangan, bukan sahaja dalam bidang akademik dan penyelidikan, tetapi juga sebagai universiti yang prihatin terhadap kelestarian tidak hanya alam sekitar tetapi jugak sosial dan ekonomi.
Semoga dengan komitmen semua warga PPSF dan inisiatif-inisiatif yang telah dirancangkan oleh Jawankuasa Kelestarian PPSF, amalan kelestarian akan diperkasa dalam kalangan warga PPSF bukan hanya dipejabat tetapi dalam kehidupan harian tidak kira walau dimana berada.

The school is happy to be part of the Penang Pharmacist Symposium (PPS) 2024, held on October 19-20! This year’s theme, “Dermatology Beyond Borders,” provided an incredible platform to delve into the roles of pharmacists in the field of dermatology.

Dr. Goh Choon Fu, whose research expertise lies in transdermal drug delivery systems and skin-related research, was among the distinguished speakers, sharing insights on the latest advancements and emerging trends in dermatological care.

On 25th September 2024, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Dr. Malcolm Jones from the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, for an academic visit. Prof. Jones was warmly received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurzalina Binti Abdul Karim Khan, Dean of the school, and Emeritus Prof. Dr. Yuen Kah Hay.

Prof. Dr. Malcolm Jones currently serves as the Director of Teaching and Learning at the School of Veterinary Science, UQ, and is the President of the International Federation for Tropical Medicine (IFTM). His visit marks the beginning of promising discussions on future academic and research collaborations between USM and UQ. During the meeting, Prof. Jones highlighted the recent launch of the Don McManus Tropical Health Research Centre at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, emphasizing its potential for groundbreaking research in tropical health and diseases.

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences is excited about the prospects of this collaboration, which aims to bring together leading researchers from various institutions to tackle the pressing challenges of tropical diseases, ultimately improving global public health.

Congratulations to Dr Siti Sarah on her recent achievement for winning the Silver medal in the open category at the International Learning Innovation Competition 2024. Dr Siti’s project, "From Microscope Slides to Handcrafted 3D Models: A Creative Transformation that Ignites Active Learning in Histology" aims to enhance the learning experience in physiology field.
