A container for emotions.

All sorts of negative feelings have intensified during the pandemic. Anger, frustration, helplessness, anxiety. However, we need to park the upsetting things somewhere so that we can focus on the task at hand - The ‘Container’ Technique:

1. visualise a container. (big enough to hold all of your upset, movable and sealable)
2. take 3 deep belly breaths (think of your belly like a big balloon) and breathe out slowly.
3. take your time to imagine all the upsetting things go into this container. Stuff them in there, one by one, from the big things that happened last night, to even the small annoyances on the way to work this morning.
4. once you are satisfied with all of them in there, seal the container and imagine putting it away. Lock it up in a cabinet, take it down to the coffee shop, or dm to us.
5. take another 3 deep belly breaths and continue your day.

Once task is done and free to deal with your feelings, visualise the container again and unseal it. Remember that you are in control. You can pick to take out which things first, second and last.
