Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by a parasite called Trichomonas vaginalis. While there is limited data available on the prevalence of trichomoniasis in Malaysia, it is generally considered to be a common STI worldwide.

Trichomoniasis can affect both men and women, although women are more likely to experience symptoms.
