It's our pleasure to have basic sourdough bread baking workshop with six participants 2 weeks ago at Kongsi House by the River. Everyone came for the workshop to learn to bake healthy bread for themselves and their loved ones. We do workshop in a small group to be able to attend to all, so six will be the maximum number for a class.
We also learned about the wheat, the starter and one dip to eat with bread -we made sweet potato hummus this round. Other than ingredients and technique, the most important is to knead/bake with good intentions.
Our next workshop will be on 27th January 2024, join us to learn an essential skill in this new year.

It's our pleasure to serve sourdough focaccia for the event at GK Organic Farm Tai's Choice Kitchen 呆食厨房 last Sunday.
It’s our honour to be able to visit Camphill Lehenhof on Germany national day. We then paid a visit and shopped at their health store the next day, before departing to our following destination- an eco village in Gomadingen.
It’s a store selling their own farm produce, selected organic/biodynamic products from all over the country as well as having a bakery cafe. Products from .eu are available in the store too.
We then had lunch there- pumpkin soup, salad, quiche and breads, all were delicious!
Pantree turned 7 last month and we totally overlooked it with the hectic schedule recently. Glad to be here at the Goetheanum World Conference with to gain some insight and experience. We get to indulge with all organic and biodynamic foods at the Goetheanum throughout the conference as well as shopping at .ch supermarkets which are available at many corners in the city. More to come for the trip as we gonna spend another 10 days here. Till then ❤️

Pantree has been given the honour to prepare bread for Beauty of Breathing 2023 workshop series. The bread is made based on the theme of the workshop, and pandan was the chosen one for this summer.
Teacher Chik Ying suggested to experiment with 2 different bakes- one with our usual way - organic ingredients, while another one with artificial flavouring and non-organic ingredients. Felt a bit reluctant at first, but after some thoughts I decided to give it a try.
Walking into the baking supply shop and watching the whole rack of artificial flavourings and colourings in bottles, I was a bit stunned. Imagine using only a few drops of the essence versus the hard work to prepare the pandan juice from scratch, I started to picture the food that we consumed so far, what is real and what's not?
Thanks to the experiment, I have a clearer picture of what is my stand as a food producer. I hope the participants of the workshop have some takeaways after session yesterday.
"Mindful eating" was my takeaway of the day. Until the next workshop in September, eat well.

We had a fabulous year of 2022 despite having less baking time. We got the chance to focus more on community work with and we will still do in year 2023, hoping to do more great works together with others.
Like what some of our friends said, let's have new year resolution on community instead of ourselves, then (in return) the others will take care of us too! Have a blessed new year, everyone! 🎉

We were at the slow market last Saturday and we enjoyed very much! So delighted to see familiar faces and non stop chit-chatting, as well as to welcome new faces to join the fun.
We will join another one or two markets before the end of the year, so please watch our updates here. :)
We had fun doing cross section of cinnamon rolls.
The first one is our usual cinnamon roll, the second was customised for a friend using high percentage of rye flour, no sugar, added raisins, sunflower seeds and walnuts.
How interesting to see the same-same-but-different effects. Baking is fun!

Pantree turns 6!
It's been good so far, as we keep it small and no thought of expanding, hence the name Pantree (pantry).
Thank you for all the support and love, we get to do what we enjoy doing and we hope you be pleased with what we serve.
As we mentioned before, we're slowing down this year for self development and also setting up a cooperative Kongsi Co-op . We're still baking for sure, even cater for small events and pop ups. We will announce a pop up this month, so stay tune!
One more thing, we will be away from 8th (Thursday) until 11th September to attend a happy event.

We will be away from tomorrow 15th until 23rd July 2022, so there will be no baking the whole week. But we will still deliver the bakes to in the morning tomorrow.

Many people asked if it's OK to freeze the bread for long time.
We often store them for days, sometimes for weeks, and the breads were fine.
So we tried to do experiment with bagel this round, freezing it since 24th March. So it's been almost 2 months now.
We always sliced the bread before freezing, then keep the bread in ziplock bag.
So we toasted the bagel in the oven for about 4 minutes at 200°C this morning, without thawing. It's still good, not turning into a stone or fossil. 🥯
And we love how Tommy le Baker quoted when people asked how long we can freeze the bread: until your freezer spoiled! 😆
We've just come back from a 4-day work-fun trip in Cherating.
We brought along cinnamon roll, focaccia and chocolate fruit loaf, while others contributed tea, coffee, juice, fruits, honey salt bread, cereal, etc.
Some of us did text study by the sea early in the morning, while a few went for a dip in the sun/sea.
We have beautiful beaches in Malaysia. We should protect the nature at all times. ❤️

We no longer run a retail bakery since May 2019. We are currently on a lookout for new space, therefore we only do pop-up at our favourite spaces (currently in Klang Valley area only. We are opened for collaborations) and wholesale to organic shops and online platforms, such as Justlife Shop, Kunyit Grocer, Everleaf, etc.
We run sourdough baking workshops too at other people’s space for now. Private workshop at your selected space is welcomed as long as it’s completed with facilities such as worktop and baking oven.
