Quick simple oven baked cauliflower.
My family had an early eat out dinner with little veg. So I cooked this quick healthy cauliflower snack & dip with yoghurt while enjoying our Friday night movie.
🥦ingredients

1 cauliflower head, cut into florets
Smoked paprika powder
Turmeric powder
Salt for seasoning
1 tbsp oil
Steps 🍳
1. Preheat oven 180C for 5 mins.
2. In a tray lined with aluminum foil, toss all the ingredients together.
3. Put it in the oven for 15mins and ready to serve.

It is not easy to get kid to eat a balance meal, meaning she would only eat protein or only carbs, sometimes vege in a meal.
This is my favorites quick balance meal for lil 3 years old.

How do you introduce kid to food, and accepting the new food?
Kids like story, activity more than adults.
At home, we have pandan leaves in the garden. Since her 1.5years, I introduce her scissor to cut pandan leaves. Now, with the leaves, I showed her to make the pandan juice, and use that for baking.
Besides introducing her ingredients, pandan, egg, flour etc. ( learns food) She learn to stir, mixing, cutting (motor skill). Oven is hot during baking (safety skill).
Our favorite way to eat cauliflower. If you don’t like Asian way of stir fry cauliflower
like me.

非常简单的食谱
1. 菜花-切成花块
2. 食油倒入菜花拌一拌
3. 盐,胡椒粉,黄姜分倒入跟菜花再拌一拌。
4. 放如烤箱180度,大概20分钟就可以吃了。
Hakka Air-fry Pork Belly
客家南乳炸肉
As you know I hate frying (oily kitchen). Husband got this air fryer for me from the point redemption. Since then I started to air fry some of our favorite Eat Out food at home.
Look at how moist is the meat(left)! Husband like the crispy/burnt one on the right.

Ingredients

500gm Pork belly
南乳(fermented tofu/bean curd) 1-2 pcs
2 tsp fermented tofu water
Ginger water
1/2 tsp oyster sauce (optional)
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp or few drop caramel- to give color
1 tbsp corn starch
As you know in olden time, people don’t get to eat meat often. So this dish is flavorful & at the salty side; can be very addicted to eat w lots of rice!
Watch up the portion size when u eat!

Pandan nasi lemak ingredients

Rice, extracted pandan juice, ginger, onion, garlic, lemongrass.
Malay laksa cooked by a 90 years old Neighbour. There are a lot of laksa version in Malaysia. This Broth is made of local fish meat and asam (taste of sour ) and other herbs. Last top up w sliced pineapple, sliced cucumber, sliced onion, bunga kantan & mints. Laksa noodle is thick, hence I only put enough for me ( portion control).

As you can see from the picture and description, laksa can be a balanced meal to go. I really like it with lots of herbs and veg. I will add more fish meat in the soup for protein and thickness 😋

Beef & capsicum stir fry with black bean + oyster sauce.

I really miss capsicum. It has its own personality of flavor and texture.
I haven’t cooked capsicum since I started to open kitchen for family last year MCO. I was the only one would eat capsicum when we eat out. Hence, I never cook for my family.
But they ate capsicum this time, including my toddler! I guess this is a good start!

I remember I never like leek flower when I was small. It taste sweet though, surprisingly! 😃
Yummy Beef Rendang! If you like some spicy kick, you may add some 🌶 .
This time I use slow cooker to soften tendon & flank meat before cook with the paste.
Even though I often cook Thai curry from scratch, I am not a pro in Rendang. I’d tried a few brand( still trying). If you are like me not pro Rendang or just being lazy, this ‘Dancing Chef’ 佳味 I reckon.

Tips :
1. Must add fresh lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves….smell good! Flavorful 🤤
2. Nicer with yellow turmeric rice also. I use fresh turmeric juice from my garden and pinch of salt to cook in rice cooker.

牛排肉炖红酒。那牛和酒香味,好香啊!
昨天和老公逛超市时,看到特价又新鲜,我们俩就呵呵呵!真的,很难在 。我们都得不得花。
的食谱。
很简单。就
牛排骨(放一些盐腌),1颗蒜头,2 tbsp tomato paste, 红酒半瓶(大约),一杯beef stock。
Tips是一定要先seal牛肉和蒜头,香喷喷。然后再加其他材料进去。然后盖上aluminium foil,放进oven 煮2.5小时。
好吃的 #芋头鱼。我常煮红烧鱼。这次不一样一点,加芋头!而且材料煮法也简单一些。
👉🏻刷第二张照片——我本来想芋头和鱼肚片而已。我懒得炒多一样菜,就水煮花椰菜,拌一拌就好啦!所以第一张照片视觉很丑。但是,味道好好吃哦😋!

食油
鱼肚片 (我不知道多重。通常我逛菜市场,看见新鲜的,就会买一片,uncle再切小片)
玉米粉 (一茶匙)
盐 (少许)
芋头 (切片)大概6片够吗?你喜欢就多加吧!
8粒蒜头 - 压扁
一颗葱 - 切段
两片姜
调味料
:两汤匙蚝油
:一杯水
:4汤匙米酒/绍兴酒
:1汤匙玉米分+3汤匙水
做法
———
1. 鱼肚片洗干净,晾干,加盐和玉米粉。
2. 热油。炸芋头先。炸好了放一旁。3. 然后炸鱼。炸好了放一旁。
4. 热一汤匙的油,放入姜,蒜头炒香。
5. 加入蚝油,水和米酒,直到滚一些。加入玉米分水。
6. 把刚才炸好的材料和葱放入锅内,拌一拌。
7.熄火,好啦!

家里收了好多的虾壳,买了鸡骨,就自己动手做呗!
我给自己80分。真的可以卖了。比一些档口还好吃。
我先生喜欢料多多,我就加了扇贝和鱼丸。
汤底材料

3个鸡骨
500gm- 1KG虾壳 (我agak2)
200ml 食油
4L 水
1. 先把虾壳和食油炒香至食油变美丽的橙色。(这是TIPS💡💡💡) 汤底会很好料。
2. 再放鸡骨和水。
3. 煮1.5小时。

2tbsp 糖 (适量调味)
1 tsp 盐 (适量调味)
鸡丝 (我真的很懒,我用鸡骨的肉,不要学我。可以在煮汤底时,放一块大鸡腿)

One pot dish.

砂锅鱼头没砂锅。鱼头被蔬菜掩埋了。蔬菜多多。Restaurant的味道,家里煮的。
Gulai Tumis Ikan ( Fish curry nyonya style). Always finished with too many mints on top covering the fish!
I like to cook this because I just need to cook ONE dish for family to go with rice! If you are an Asian, you know we usually will prepare a few dishes to go with rice. This one pot has protein (fish), lady fingers & mints (vege) to go with rice, and make it a balance meal.
I tried recipe this time. Different is this recipe add galangal; taste less spicy and more sourish( from tamarind).
Cooked so many times of Gulai Tumis, this is my first time post it. They are so beautiful to snap.
Story line : When u try to nurture your family member to eat vegetable.
I have to upgrade my vegetable cooking skill to restaurant level so that my family eat the vege.
Equation:
1. Garlic+green=notaste
2. Garlic+friedgreen+oystersauce+
driedprawn=tastegood
Yass, i experimented With equation 2, they cleaned the plate!
When I use equation 1, none of them touch green beans.
Ingredients

250gm French beans
1 1/2 tbsp dried prawn, minced
1 small shallot, sliced
2 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp oyster sauce
1/2 tsp soy sauce
Steps
——————
1. Deep fried the French beans and put aside.
2. With high flame, Stir fry the prawns, shallot and garlic until fragrant.
3. Put the French bean and the sauce inside. Off fire, stir everything until mix well.
I found it a bit too salty. So next time can reduce the dried prawn or opt out the soy sauce.
