Today, I made vegetable kurma using Sena's kurma powder. I decided to clear out my fridge by tossing in all the vegetables I had. The result was delightful, and I couldn't be more satisfied.
Apologies for the lack of messages recently. It’s been a hectic day grinding spice powders, but I’m pleased to announce that kurma and rasam powder are back in stock.

Today's lunch was ragi (kezhvaragu) thosai and dinner was kali (gluten-free ragi balls). Both accompanied by prawn curry🦐
Thosai was made from ragi flour, wheat flour (can omit if you prefer gluten-free), rice flour, curd & salt.
Ragi mudde, ragi sangati, or kali, commonly known as mudde or hittu, is a traditional finger millet dish from Karnataka and the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, India, typically served in a swallow-like form.
My grandmother used to prepare Kali for the entire family before heading to work. Today, my mother-in-law taught me how to make it. Just half a ball is so satisfying.
A tantalizing prawn curry was crafted using our top-selling Colombo curry powder infused with the rich flavors of Mughal garam masala.
It had been quite some time since I updated my food choices. Today, I decided to try something different, but unfortunately, my portion of tempeh has been 'stolen'😅
The tempeh was air-fried for 10 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius after being coated with Sena's turmeric powder. It was then stir-fried in coconut oil along with onions, garlic, chili, and a preferred choice of soy sauce, seasoned with Sena's low-heat chili powder.

HOMEMADE SENA’S SPICE BLEND
Sena’s Spice Blend was founded by Chandrasena in 2019. She completed Master of Science (Nutrition) from The National University of Malaysia (UKM). Throughout her studies, she covered the aspects of nutrition which are the foundations for treatment of certain pathological conditions besides learned food quality control, food safety, Food Act1983 and Regulations 1985, GMP, Halal food, HACCP and principles of conducting research techniques.
It started with four blends and start growing by consumer’s request. Back then, her grandma and great aunts have been making own spice mixes which was a common practice in Indian household. In current century, everything changed dramatically. In once click, everything is being delivered to home but can it guarantee long term health and safety of a food?
Food adulteration and unhygienic practices became her primary concern. In her experience as a food research assistant and a graduate in Food Science and Nutrition, she saw the power of a toxic culture. She prepares food from scratch whenever it’s possible. She started making own spice blends for home purpose, then for family and friends too. That’s how she gets the idea of Homemade Sena’s Spice Blends. Its a tedious process but her main objective is to provide healthy blends. She starts developing gluten free spice blends to cater more people.
Her passion towards spice is growing day by day. She wishes to keep the art of spice making by her ancestors alive. The art of dry-roasting, the intense flavors, deeply aromatic spice powders gives her the satisfaction of her passion. She loves experimenting with new blends and will come up soon with more new blends.
She is KKM Food Handler certified and typhoid vaccinated.
