10 Warning Signs You Have an Unhealthy Gut + What to Do About It
Your gut is the entire digestive tract that runs from your esophagus to your re**um. It does more than just take in food and excrete food, however.
Experts refer to the gut as the second brain. The microbes and nerves in the gut can launch communication with the brain, affecting everything from hunger to mood.
If your gut is healthy, you have a proper balance of good and bad bacteria. 🦠
Your stomach secretes the right amount of acid to help process your food, and your liver and pancreas release the right enzymes to further digest your food.
The right balance of what you eat feeds your body. It also feeds the healthy bacteria in the gut that allow your food to be used effectively by the body.
If your gut is healthy, your body and mind probably are too.
You might think that the signs of an unhealthy gut would be obvious. Of course, symptoms like digestive distress, bowel movement problems, and abdominal pain can signal that something is unhealthy in your gut.
We’re not going to talk about the obvious: diarrhea and constipation.
However, other physical, emotional and mental warning signs can signal that your gut needs some serious TLC.
Here are 10 warning signs that you have an unhealthy gut and some tips for getting yourself back in balance.
1. Stress, Anxiety and Depression
2. You Get Sick a Lot
3. Skin Problems
4. Stubborn Weight
5. Autoimmune Disease
6. Acid Reflux
7. Yeast Infections
8. Lack of Energy
9. High Cholesterol and Triglycerides
10. Asthma
❓ How Can You Build a Healthy Gut ❓
You might want to know what to do about your unhealthy gut. Maintaining a healthy gut involves making consistent healthy lifestyle choices, such as the following:

➡️Eat whole, nutrient-rich foods – Eating a variety of clean, colorful foods provides your body with the nutrients that it needs to operate properly. ➡️Chemically processed foods often contain compounds that feed the bad bacteria and cause imbalance.
➡️Eat less sugar – Sugar is another culprit that feeds the unhealthy bacteria. Eliminating it from your diet can help rebalance your intestinal microbiome.
➡️Chew your food – When you don’t chew your food well enough, it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to in order to feed the healthy bacteria and promote healthy digestion.
➡️Stay hydrated – Water is necessary for just about every bodily function, including maintaining a healthy gut.
➡️Detox – Following a gentle detoxification program can eliminate many of the factors that are causing inflammation on a daily basis, giving your gut a chance to heal and rebalance itself.
➡️Drink apple cider vinegar – Adding a tablespoon or two of apple cider vinegar to a glass of water can boost the amount of acid in your stomach, helping your digestion to function properly.
➡️Consume more postbiotics – Eating fermented foods or taking pro/ postbiotic supplements can help restore the balance in your gut.
‼️Taking a good postbiotic is the first place to start, whether you make any of the above changes or not. It will take time to heal your gut, so adding in a postbiotic AND making some or all of the above changes is the quickest way to reboot your system.

Are You Suffering From a Diabetes-Related Skin Problem❓
Do you have diabetes❓ Diabetes is the fastest growing long-term (chronic) disease, affecting millions of people across the globe. In the United States, more than 25 million people suffer with diabetes.
About 75 percent of them have type 2 diabetes, linked to obesity or being overweight. Researchers believe that the diabetes epidemic will escalate, and predict that in 2050, one in three Americans will have diabetes.
About a third of people with diabetes will develop skin problems such as skin sores or a leg rash. In fact, according to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), some skin problems can be warning signs of diabetes in those who are undiagnosed. The good news is that most skin problems with diabetes can be prevented or treated easily if they’re caught early.
Keeping proper control of your blood sugar (glucose) can prevent diabetes skin problems and many other diabetes symptoms from happening in the first place.
Many diabetes skin problems can happen to healthy people, but people with diabetes have a much higher risk. Diabetes skin problems include:
▶️Bacterial infections
▶️Diabetes rash
▶️Diabetic blisters
▶️Diabetic dermopathy
▶️Eruptive xanthomatosis
▶️Fungal infections
▶️Necrobiosis lipoidica diabeticorum
▶️Skin itching
Taking postbiotics can help reducing diabetes and cholesterol effectively. Growing research suggests that postbiotics help get healthy microbes back into balance.
A balanced microbiome may help reduce eczema, acne, dry skin, and even wrinkles and skin cancer risk linked to UV damage.

📍What Does Your Thyroid Have to Do With Eczema and Psoriasis?
Written by Jennifer Fugo, MS, CHC✍️🧑‍⚕️
If you’re suffering from dry, itchy, flaky skin or have psoriasis or eczema, it’s likely you’re not thinking about your thyroid. Why would you? When you’re dealing with something as conspicuous and painful as a rash, it’s difficult to think about anything other than getting rid of it on the surface.
Believe me, I know. Before I went gluten-free and healed my gut, I suffered from chronic eczema and other skin issues. I would have done almost anything to get rid of the embarrassing rashes and visible inflammation.

Now I know that eczema, psoriasis, and other skin rashes are never just skin deep.
And for the estimated 20 million people in the US who suffer from thyroid disease, the prevalence of skin rashes is even higher.

Let’s dig into some of the ways your thyroid, your gut, and your skin are related, and where to start on your healing journey if you suffer from thyroid skin rashes.
📍1. Low thyroid function affects your gut. And your gut impacts your skin.
You simply cannot have healthy gut function with a poorly functioning thyroid.

Among other things, thyroid hormones (TH) contribute to keeping tight junctions in the stomach and skin tight, so they stay sealed and don’t let stray molecules in or out. TH also helps intestinal mucosa cells get to full maturity. When intestinal mucosa aren’t fully developed and tight junctions begin to loosen, you’ll begin to see symptoms like:
▶️Decrease in hydrochloric acid (gastric acid) production
▶️Leaky gut syndrome
▶️Food sensitivities
▶️Gut symptoms (ie. gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, nausea)
▶️Slow motility (that can lead to Small Intestine ▶️Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO))
▶️Fungal overgrowth
▶️Bacterial overgrowth
▶️Gut pathogens
▶️Brain fog
All of these symptoms make it tough for your body to process and excrete toxins. The more your body holds onto toxins, the more we begin to see the physical ramifications of this in the form of rashes and other skin issues.
Leaky gut and SIBO wreak havoc on your gut lining and can even trigger autoimmune diseases that includes dermatitis herpetiformis, vitiligo, psoriasis, dermatomyositis, lupus, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, and even eczema.
🌟Low thyroid function reduces blood flow to your skin.
Hypothyroidism reduces blood flow to your skin.

While your skin is an organ, it also happens to be of the lowest priority. And reduced blood flow to the lowest priority organ (your skin) means a couple of things according to acupuncturist Brie Wieselman, L.Ac.
▶️ First, nutrients and oxygen can’t properly flow to the skin cells to aid in detox, repair, and regeneration. As a result, the environment around your skin cells can become rather toxic and unhealthy. That certainly makes it difficult for healthy cellular turnover.
▶️And the cells themselves don’t have enough nutrients vital for healthy turnover (which happens about every 28 to 40 days). When you can’t make healthy new cells, that’s how you end up with unending skin rashes.
📍Second, when you have hypothyroidism, there are also less thyroid hormones in general to aid in cellular metabolism, which prevents the skin from releasing toxins properly.
When #1 (gut dysbiosis and a higher toxic burden on the inside) and #2 (decrease in blood flow inhibiting the skin’s natural detox capabilities) combine, it’s a perfect storm for a massive buildup of waste, which can trigger a myriad of skin issues, eczema and psoriasis just being two of them. There’s a reason that dry, itchy, brittle skin, hair, and nails are some of the first physical symptoms of hypothyroidism.
This is also the reason why slathering yourself in lotions and steroid creams rarely work. When you can’t shed old skin cells or excrete toxins properly, your body can’t create new, healthy skin cells either. Most lotions are just adding to the problem, making it harder to shed the old and let the new flourish.
❓How to Heal Your Thyroid Skin Rashes
,
▶️If the underlying cause of your skin rash is related to a thyroid disorder, it’s important that you look at your healing with a holistic lens. Your thyroid regulates nearly every metabolic pathway in your body, affecting everything from your brain to your digestion to your skin.
,
1️⃣Optimize Thyroid Function
I often tell clients that you can’t outsmart or out-work your thyroid. If your levels are not optimal (or close to there), it’s difficult to get your skin back on track since so much of its healthy function is tied to your thyroid.

You are advised to take postbiotics in order to heal the gut lining.
2️⃣Identify Your Food Triggers
The first line of defense when it comes to healing skin rashes is to identify your food triggers. Eliminating inflammatory and triggering foods will not only help short-term inflammation and flares, but will help heal your gut long-term as well.
Triggering foods can increase inflammation of your gut lining making it really hard to digest and assimilate nutrients from your food.
3️⃣Manage Stress to Banish Thyroid Skin Rashes
Besides sugary and processed foods, stress is enemy number one when it comes to healing thyroid function and skin rashes in general.

What If I Have Both IBS and IBD? 🙍‍♀️
What Is Inflammatory Bowel Disease?
IBD is a chronic, systemic, relapsing, immune-mediated inflammation of the intestinal tract. Over 3 million people in the United States have IBD with varying levels of severity.
We don’t know what causes it, but researchers suspect a combination of genetics and environmental factors are at play.
The two main types of IBD are Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
In ulcerative colitis inflammation is in the large intestine and almost always involves the re**um. Primary symptoms include diarrhea and re**al bleeding.
In Crohn’s disease inflammation can occur anywhere along the gastrointestinal tract, but it usually involves the bottom part of the small intestine (Crohn’s ileitis), the large intestine (Crohn’s colitis), or both (Crohn’s ileocolitis). Crohn’s symptoms vary based on location, but the most common symptoms include abdominal pain and diarrhea.
Both Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis can lead to extraintestinal (out of the intestines)l complications, such as inflammation of the joints, skin and eyes.
Most people with IBD rely on medications to achieve and maintain remission. Some require surgery, including bowel resections and/or colectomy. Severe cases of IBD can lead to life-threatening complications, including colon cancer.
🤷‍♀️ How can I prevent inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)?
While there isn’t anything you can do to prevent IBD, certain dietary and lifestyle changes may control the symptoms. You can:
▶️Eat smaller meals every two to four hours.
▶️Find healthy ways to manage stress, such as meditation, movement like tai chi, listening to music or going for a walk.
▶️Get plenty of sleep and stay physically active.
▶️Take postbiotics to maintain gut health.
▶️Keep a food diary to identify foods that trigger IBD flares. You may find you have a food intolerance, such as lactose intolerance. If so, your body has a harder time digesting certain foods, which causes stomach upset.
▶️Reduce foods that irritate the intestines, such as those that are fibrous, spicy, greasy or made with milk. During flares, choose soft, bland foods that are less inflammatory.
▶️Cut back on caffeinated, carbonated and alcoholic beverages. Drink more water to prevent dehydration.
▶️Quit smoking.

POSTBIOTIC vs PROBIOTIC
No Viable Cells vs Live Bacteria 🦠🧫
🔸Postbiotic🔸
➡️SAFE - No viable cell but still possess the goodness of Probiotic and Prebiotic
➡️CONSISTENT - controlled fermentation produced similar chemical structure metabolites.
➡️EFFICACY - Rapid result for gut health.
➡️ Longer Shelf Life - 2 years at ambient temperature
➡️Easy storage and transportation - do not need fridge
➡️Don't cause inflammatory response
⚡️GUT microbiota is implicated in both health and disease, and research has found links between bacterial populations, whether normal or disturbed, and the following diseases:
• asthma
• autism
• cancer
• celiac disease
• colitis
• diabetes
• eczema
• heart disease
• malnutrition
• multiple sclerosis
• obesity
✨The gut microbiota can heavily contribute to how a person fights disease (immunity), digests food (nutrition), and even their mood (brain) and psychological processes (behaviour).
✨Gut immunological homeostasis is maintained by the interaction between host immunity and intestinal microbiota. A variety of innate immune cells promote or suppress T cell differentiation and activation in response to intestinal bacteria or their metabolites.
🦹Maintenance of normal homeostasis provides long and healthy life.

How POSTBIOTIC works ❓❓
🔸Probiotic🔸
Live bacteria promoted with claims that they provide health benefits. There are hundreds of probiotic species available. Which of these species are best for the average healthy person is still unknown?
🔸Prebiotic 🔸
compounds in food that induce the growth or activity of beneficial microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. The most common example is in the gastrointestinal tract, where prebiotics can alter the composition of organisms in the gut microbiome.
🔸Postbiotic 🔸
also known metabolites - are soluble factors, secreted by live bacteria, or released after bacterial lysis providing physiological benefits to the host/Gut.
🔎 10 Reasons why POSTBIOTIC for GUT:
1. SAFE - NO viable cells, no foreign unknown bacteria into body.
2. EFFICACY - FAST result on constipation, diarrhea, loose stools etc.
3. Consistent - standard chemical structure of metabolites.
4. Stable - do not need freeze-dried, fridge storage and longer shelf life.
5. Friendly - Do not need colonization to show result.
6. No Inflammatory response as NO gut host-bacteria interaction.
7. No Risk - especially to immune-compromised patients.
8. No virulence gene transfer from pathogenic bacteria
9. Do not depend on viability of different species to get intended result.
10. Have the benefits of both Probiotics & Prebiotics

Common Causes of Stomach Pain😖
Harmless abdominal pain usually subsides or goes away within two hours.
🔸Gas: Formed in the stomach and intestines as your body breaks down food, this can cause general stomach pain and cramps. This often can be indicated by belching or flatulence.
🔸Bloating: Related to gas, this occurs when excessive gas builds up in your digestive tract. Your stomach will usually feel full, and you may experience cramps.
🔸Constipation: This occurs when you are having difficulty making bowel movements. If you are having two or fewer bowel movements a week, constipation is the likely cause. In addition to feeling bloated and nauseous, you may experience cramping and pain in your re**um.
🔸Indigestion: You typically experience this as an upset stomach, burning, or belly pain after eating.
Stomach flu: Your stomach may hurt before each episode of vomiting or diarrhea.
When to seek immediate medical attention
Get medical help immediately if:
-You have abdominal pain that is very sharp, severe, and sudden.
-You also have pain in the chest, neck, or shoulder.
-You’re vomiting blood, have bloody diarrhea, or have black, tarry stools (melena)
-You have a high fever.
-You’re having difficulty breathing.
-You develop consistent nausea and/or vomiting.
-Your abdomen is stiff, hard, and tender to the touch.
-You can’t move your bowels, especially if you’re also vomiting

Boost IMMUNITY! 💪💪
Regulate GUT microbiome to improve Immunoglobulin/Antibodies
IgG, IgM, IgA, IgD and IgE 👩‍⚕️
📍 3 ways the immune system protects you:
• It creates a barrier that prevents bacteria and viruses from entering body.🙅‍♀️
• If a bacteria or virus does get into the body, the immune system tries to detect and eliminate it before it can make itself at home and reproduce.🦠
• If the virus or bacteria is able to reproduce and start causing problems, your immune system is in charge of eliminating it.👋
💊Antibiotics treat bacterial infections but not viruses. Rampant overused of “broad-spectrum” antibiotics lead to bacteria resistance and create SUPERBUG or Antimicrobial Resistant (AMR)
💊Viruses are fundamentally different from each other. Some use RNA, some DNA as their genetic code, some are surrounded by an envelope, others not. There are no drugs for waging a direct attack against these viruses or eliminate them, instead antiviral drugs inhibit and keep the viruses under control.
📍Prolonged antiviral drug exposure and ongoing virus gene mutation due to immunosuppression (immune deterioration caused by prolonged inhibitory effects of immune cells) lead to Antiviral Drug Resistance.
📍Post Covid-19, black fungus infection become serious in India “Several types of fungi can cause the disease. These fungi aren't harmful to most people, but can cause serious infections among those with weakened immune systems, according to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)”
📍Covid-19 patients are particularly susceptible because not only does the virus affect their immune system -- treatment drugs can also suppress their immune response.
SO?
💪A STRONG IMMUNE SYSTEM IS KEY TO PROTECT AGAINST INFECTIONS
🔹Maintain Healthy Diet 🔹Hydrate the body
🔹Sufficient Quality Sleep 🔹Regularly Exercise
🔹Modulating GUT Microbiome
Animal Study show using POSTBIOTIC to modulate of Gut environment
✅ Promote the growth of the GOOD bacterial and suppress bad bacteria
✅ Improved the villi height and crypt depth and the nutrient absorption.
✅ Increase of immunoglobulin of IgG, IgA and IgM
🧫Postbiotic induce changes in the gut microbiome and the altered gut microbial composition is associated with increased levels of innate and acquired immunity biomarkers.
Postbiotic improved immune system shown, immunomodulatory effects and antagonizing properties against pathogens contribute to the general health and well-being.
