Since Friday is a special day, Muslims are expected to go to the mosque in their best dress outfit.

The prophet said: "It would do no[harm] to anyone if he were to buy two gowns for Friday other than his work clothes."
You should also smell nice as indicated in the Sunnah.

Amr (a sub-narrator) said, "I confirm that the taking of a bath is compulsory, but as for the siwak and the using of perfume, Allah knows better whether it is obligatory or not, but according to the Hadith it is as above.")

Just as evil acts come back to you in some other form, kind acts also come back to you in the form of kindness from some other person. So if you want to be treated kindly, treat others kindly.

Reading is knowledge

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged his followers to broaden their horizons by seeking knowledge – even to the depths of China (Bukhari). Yes, it's that time of the year again. The month of Ramadan descended upon us all and with it, we welcome the comforting knowledge that the usual Ramadan bazaars will be unfolding its colourful umbrellas and presenting oh-so-glorious food to us.

Regardless of whether you are fasting or not, everybody loves good-ole-Ramadan bazaars. Everyone gets a chance to be let off work early so working moms who don’t have time to cook for their families can just take away a few meals here, students staying in hostels can buy their favourite rendang and foreigners lucky enough to visit Malaysia this time of the year can have a taste of Malaysian culture in one complete package.

Zakat or tithe is a payment that must be fulfilled by Muslims all over the world. The purpose is to assist the less fortunate, as all of the collected payments will be distributed to different channels and handed to those who need it most.

Under the Syariah Criminal Enactment Law of each state, Muslims in Malaysia could actually serve jail time or be forced to pay a hefty fine for skipping their zakat payment on purpose.

Salah can be done anywhere, except a place regarded as unclean, but are ideally done in a mosque.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet saw said, "The prayer offered in congregation is twenty five times more superior (in reward) to the prayer offered alone in one's house or in a business center, because if one performs ablution and does it perfectly, and then proceeds to the mosque with the sole intention of praying, then for each step which he takes towards the mosque, Allah upgrades him a degree in reward and (forgives) crosses out one sin till he enters the mosque. When he enters the mosque he is considered in prayer as long as he is waiting for the prayer and the angels keep on asking for Allah's forgiveness for him and they keep on saying: 'O Allah! Be Merciful to him, O Allah! Forgive him, as long as he keeps on sitting at his praying place and does not pass wind.

Some say the reward is 27 times not 25.

The scholar Ibn al-Qayyim in his work "The Prophetic Medicine" described raisins as dried sweet grapes. He said that the best raisins were large-bodied, plump, thin skinned.
Some of the health benefits he mentioned about raisins were found in the flesh of the fruit. He said that they could be beneficial for the trachea, chest, lungs, and kidney and bladder pains. Other benefits he mentioned were:
Strengthening the stomach
Aiding digestion
Promoting bowel movement
Good for the memory

Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said, “Whoever establishes prayers during the nights of Ramadan faithfully out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards (not for showing off), all his past sins will be forgiven.”

A mother’s right is greater than having just one day in the year to be honored, rather the mother’s right over her children is that they should take care of her and obey her, so long as it does not involve disobedience towards Allah, at all times and in all places.
For many of us, our friends are more precious to us than our Mother and Father. Forgetful we are of the time a man came to the Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, and asked him who is more worthy of his dear companionship. He, peace and blessing be upon him, said, “your Mother!” The man asked again and again, and the Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, replied, “Your Mother! Your Mother!” Until on the fourth time he, peace and blessing be upon him, said, “Your Father”. Today, when the common question is asked, “Who is your best friend?” How many people would say, “my Mother!” But this is how the question should be answered and implemented.

Although it may be a tiring month for Muslims, Ontario-based nutritionist Anar Allidina says it’s important to make time for exercise.
According to Allidina, the best time to exercise in Ramadan is right before sunset.
“You can push yourself a little more knowing that you’re going to break your fast soon.”

Brushing the teeth during fasting is permissible and an established practice of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh).

Rabi’ah (ra) states, “I seen the Prophet (pbuh) on countless occassions, brushing his teeth with the siwaak (tooth stick), while he was in the state of fasting” (Tirmidhi)

Before it came to be known as the month of Fasting, the companions of the Prophet knew Ramadan as a month of the Quran, the last and ever lasting divine guidance to humanity.

Muslims believe there is a specific night that comes only once a year, a night that is exceptionally divine, tremendously sacred, and extremely rewarding. This night comes during the most sacred Muslim month, Ramadan.
