We have a plan to unlock the power of GH2 in Namibia and beyond.
We are proud to be part of the South African Summit taking place in Cape Town. The Namibian session was over subscribed as there is enormous interest across the board in our initiative.
There is ongoing research that shows early promising results for liquid hydrogen as well as new pipeline materials.

Let’s not always look at the past. Let’s look at the future based on what we know now. There is something very special happening in Namibia right now and if all of us embrace it and play our part in it, we will be able to experience our desired future.

The road to Energy Self Sufficiency in Namibia is bright with Green Hydrogen. We have piloted exciting projects such as the Daures Green Village in the Erongo Region. In its pilot phase, it is producing 500kg of Anhydrous Ammonia per day.
Subsequent phases will produce 350,000 tons of ammonia per year.

Harnessing Africa's Potential.
Did you know that Namibia is uniquely positioned to be one of the largest producers globally because of:
1. Significant land availability (35th largest in the world by landmass; 2nd least populated country in the world).
2. Amongst the world’s top resource-rich locations for the co-location of wind and solar energy.
3. One of the most stable democratic governments in Africa.
4. Few, if any, competing interests (e.g., competing industries, infrastructure, or unsupportive private landowners).
5. Geographic proximity of renewable resources to coast and port connectivity to global markets.
It is clear that the initiative in Namibia will play a crucial role in global decarbonization.

We’ve Got A Plan For A Green Hydrogen Economy.
The production of Hydrogen gas from water through electrolysis requires a supply of very clean water to eliminate contamination in the electrolytic cell. One such source of water is desalinated seawater. When renewable energy is used for the production of desalinated water and for electrolysis, the Hydrogen produced is called Green Hydrogen due to the fact that the process is environmentally friendly and has zero emission of carbon dioxide. If the Hydrogen is then converted to Ammonia, the product becomes Green Ammonia.
Since seawater is needed for this project, the coastal towns of Namibia have been identified as suitable sites for desalination and production of Hydrogen and Ammonia. Three renewable energy sources will be considered as the prime energy in the desalination process, namely: Solar Energy, Wind Energy, Ocean Wave Energy and/or a combination of these energy sources.

This morning at COP27, we are discussing Climate Change and Water Security.
Namibia has a plan to mitigate against the impact of drought and lack of portable water in a Green Hydrogen economy. Through desalination of sea water, we will be able to ensure water security for our people.

What kind of a future are we envisioning for Namibia?
We want a future where unemployment is a thing of the past. A future where entrepreneurs are able to access capital and resources that they need to succeed. We want a future where all Namibians thrive.
This is a future that is possible if we embrace Green Hydrogen in Namibia as a nation and join hands to make it a reality.
