Imagine if Joseph(bible) had slept with Portiphar's wife; he would have ended up a chief servant in the house. No one would have known about the 7years of plenty and famine. Israel(Jacob) and his sons(12 tribes) would have been wiped out of the earth because of hunger. There wouldn't have been an Isreal nation today because of the action of one man who never thought through or never knew the consequences of his actions.

Just imagine if you High Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii hadn't declared interest to contest after listening to the yearnings of the people for him to! Imagine if democracy didn't prevail and he lost and wasn't the PDP guber candidate!

They are more poor people in Nigeria today than anywhere in the world because of the choice our parents made which has correlation with who they chose to lead them. The worse is that we, the present generation is still institutionalizing same generational mistake,yet we expect a change for prosperity.

I do not have the luxury of thinking and acting like others who only see who becomes who in Ebonyi state through the eyes of ethnicity,tribe or zone. Due to my family conditioning which is operantly wired,I'm blind to zoning, ethnicity or tribe. My support for High Chief Ifeanyi Odii is purely based on ideological grounds and not by any sentiment. He personifies the brand of politics I have believed in from my childhood, which can be summarily put as secular,free market based, and privatization led.

Chief Ifeanyi Odii believes in meritocracy through which he will leverage on and deliver Ebonyi state to the path of economic prosperity, while those opposed to him are ideologically configured to enthrone mediocrity in place of meritocracy because of sentimentality. What a shrewd mentality!

Ebonyi as the poorest state in South East and one of the poorest in Nigeria,let me not talk about being one of the most educationally disadvantaged, needs no joker, no impoverished mind to man her wheel to resources surplus plus all round success and from doom to bloom.

Einsten put it best when he said you need a higher level of intelligence to solve a problem than the level of intelligence that caused the problem you're trying to solve.Ebonyi state in the folds of the APC candidate and his APGA counterpart are part of the problem.Having served in the govt, they are not immuned from it. They cannot be the solution when they are the problem.

The problem we face in the state is huge. From poor salary of civil servants,to poor renumeration of the general workforce.From no promotion of workers,to retrenchment of workers. From high increase in general price of commodities to too much money chasing fewer goods. Don't even argue about inflation being a nationwide economic trend. I know. But a governor who is economically well-to-do,good manager of scarcity can step up and turn things around for a state that has enormous solid minerals and large arable farmlands like Ebonyi. I will tell you how. If not today, later.

The problem in Nigeria especially in Ebonyi state is multi tasking for us to continue rotating those who do not create wealth as leaders. Apart from loving Ifeanyi Odii because he is INDEPENDENTLY wealthy,such that a poor state like Ebonyi needs to create wealth,he is a lover of education.

No state in the world can create wealth having its citizens esp the youths as uneducated . As a lover of education, Governor Babajide Sanwolu of Lagos state from afar certainly saw what we, who are much closer, could not see, and called upon High Chief Ifeanyi Odii to become the member of the prestigious Lagos State University Governing Board to share his wealth of knowledge with the institution. LASU today is one of the top ranking state universities in Nigeria.

If an APC governor from faraway land of Lagos could see a worthy opposition party candidate and be attracted to,to seek his request to help man the great Lagos State University, what is holding us from noticing the unique sterling qualities with unmatched wisdom in this man of impeccable character? Or do we prefer professors with little or no contribution,maybe thesis only, and law graduate that does not know the oversight functions as the Speaker of House of Assembly?

Yes! Ifeanyi Odii has been accused by his political opponents of being too rich to govern the state. What do political opponents do? They accuse. But I have never seen unreasonable accusation that is as watery as accusing someone of becoming too rich to govern a state.

Among all the governorship candidates in Ebonyi state,no body is more prepared than Odii. If anybody is close,it is the Labour Party candidate,Chief Edward Nkwegu but does not have the moral standing as Odii has.The only thing they have in common is courage and interest to invest in business even though Nkwegu's business has refused to grow since over 5 years now. Such a man needs to grow his business first before he plans to grow Ebonyi state to glow.

Just this year 2022 alone,among other recognitions bestowed to Odii in the business community, Guardian Newspaper recognized him as one of the 50 CEOs that impacted and contributed to Nigeria's GDP growth in 2021. Research it. Do not take me for my words.

If Ifeanyi Odii, the PDP guber candidate 2023 could contribute to the great outing of the Nigeria's Gross Domestic Product as a private individual, VOTE him as Ebonyi State Governor to domesticate such feat as a public office holder than allowing the position slide to the wrong hands who do not know how to create wealth not sustain it.

Let me make a full disclosure here on why I support the PDP's guber candidate,High Chief Ifeanyi Odii to emerge as Ebonyi state governor despite coming from the same zone the incumbent Governor David Nweze Umahi is from: I do not believe in zoning. It does not allow for the best candidate. It creates a sense of entitlement, and it breeds resentment as can be seen in the case where the "Ekumaenyi" people are laying entitlement claims to the number one position of the state as their turn,and the recent attack of the convoy of the APGA's governorship candidate,Prof.Benard Odoh in their land.

However, Nigeria must choose and practice a style of governance best suited to it. We cannot adopt a foreign model (the Presidential and Parliamentary models were both foreign) and applied on Nigeria with little or no changes. Rather, we ought to adapt a model that has worked elsewhere.

Adopting and adapting are two very different ideas. When you adopt (as Ebonyi has been doing, borrowing the broader template of Nigeria), you take on a model and force yourself to fit into it. And that type of mentality can be very frustrating, because in politics, one side can never fit all.

But when you adapt, you take on a model and make changes to that model, until it suits your specific needs. It is like inheriting clothes from your older siblings, and taking them to the tailor to land adjustments until those clothes fit you.

Tanzania adapted the Presidential system of government to suit its needs. Instead of two or many strong parties, they have only one dominant party, the Chama Cha Mapinduzi, which has produced every single President since 1980. It may not look as democratic as the West wants, but it works for them, and Tanzania has never had a coup or an interruption in its chosen model of democracy.That's adoption based on peculiarity.

But if Ebonyi state wants to adapt her democracy and make zoning an unwritten rule, much like the United Kingdom’s unwritten constitution, then I am all for it the same way the United Kingdom doesn't mind where their leader comes from.

However, if Ebonyi state is to go with zoning, then the governorship position should be micro-zoned to only other sub-tribe zones that have not tasted power or have barely tasted it. And that means that if we must zone, then power should be zoned to the people of Ndi Ehugbo who has never tested power before, neither do they have the state capital that the Ezaa,Izzi and Ikwo co-owns by territorial occupation and traditional land ownership.This is because both the three tribes of Ezaa,Izzi and Ikwo are biological brothers, according to history,from the descendant of Anakiwha who died of smallpox. He is not traditionally recorded because of they believed his death was shameful as a result,he wasn't given a decent burial. Small pox is called "Igbogbo" as a dialect commonly by the 3 tribes. And that's why up till date,if you go to any of these tribes and say "Igbogbo gbua whu"they will not take it lightly with you. Anakiwha is Enyi's father.

Not to lump it up,Enyi had three sons: Ezekuna was the oldest. The second was Ekuma and the third was Noyo(I was careful to use the third and not the last before they come to attack).Ekuma Enyi's wife,Ugbala gave birth to Nnodo. Nnodo is the descendant of Izzi. Hence,Izzi Nnodo. Ezekuna is the descendant of Ezza(best written as Ezaa), Ezaa Ezekuna while Noyo is the descendant of Ikwo. Ikwo Noyo.

All these tribes are the greatest beneficiaries of the present day Ebonyi state creation except the Ezaa who does not share close affinity with others as it is believed was a step brother of the two tribes according to forklore.They have the state capital. And zones that have produced governors for 16 years, uninterrupted. The Abakaliki bloc. The old Afikpo bloc only produced the finishing tenure of Gov.Umahi which can't be any reason in numbers and benefits be compared to the 16 years in power and the presence of the state capital of the old Abakaliki bloc.

If, however, both major political parties feel that they cannot zone the office of the governor to the Ebonyi South zone, due to reasons bordering on real politik, then they should not have zoned to any other senatorial zone except the Ebonyi North again where it started from-Dr.Sam Egwu or better cede it to the old Afikpo bloc to have a taste of the Abakaliki bloc's two term. By then,we, the old Afikpo bloc could have reasonably considered Ndi Ehugbo for their contribution to the development of the state.

We either go with justice, equity, and fairness, or we go with full-blown democracy. But we cannot go with both.

There is no point asking one party to zone its governorship ticket to one zone, and having the other leave its own open, or even worse, to zone it to another part. The only way zoning can work is if BOTH major parties zone their tickets to the same geopolitical zone. With that way, the best can emerge. If not,it limits the emergence of the best.

In truth and based on national interest, Zoning is a tactical and stop-gap measure towards ensuring the survival of Nigeria as a nation. It is a sacrifice of the majority to those ethnic nationalities who may not have their numbers. Can the same be said on state level?

And we need not fear the Cameroon treatment, where power rotated to the South from the North, and Paul Biya refused to release it, because as 2015 proved, the regions that concede power have the numerical strength to retake it.

Having said the above, it is also pertinent to speak some home truths to those tribes and zones agitating for zoning.Too often, they are too inflammable online and offline. Stooping to conquer is not a strategy they believe in, and sadly, they do not command the forces to acquire power by the direct route. If I state why now,they will say Ebonyi south alone can't make their own Ebonyi governor alone. Wait! Who told you that a tree can make a forest?

Such people must collectively understand that bravery without strategy is a effort in futility. And when you do not even agree within yourselves, how do you hope to agree with your rivals in the contest for power?Unite and produce a consensus candidate but you said no. Over 4 candidate of different political parties,all from the same zone and tell me how you want to win when you share your votes that are not much among yourselves? It is hard to acquire power, and therefore you must plan for the acquisition long before elections are imminent. But is that what some of our friends have done? Or should we rather return power to the hands of selfish people, unwilling to let go for any of their brother,when we have a capable,sound, resourceful, selfless enterprising,young and innovative being in the person of High Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii whose only crime is because he is self-made,rich and hails from the same zone,but not LGA with the present governor?

Now that the Supreme Court has finally done justice to the Ebonyi state PDP Guber primary election contest between Sen.Obinna Ogba and High Chief Ifeanyi Odii by striking out the watery request to review judgement,I have given myself a huge sigh of relief.

It is not by shouting who we know after drinking some bottles of beer here and there. It is not by insults.It is by results.

From today till the day campaign ends according to INEC rules,God sparing my life,I will be writing and telling people within my reach, while Chief Ifeanyi Odii is the man perfect for the position as the Governor of Ebonyi State,2023.
