At AfriGen Village Kitchen though our focus will be on organic foods, because we put your health and total wellness ahead of profit. We equally recognise the simple fact that you might visit with your kids. So, what did we do? We invested over N20m in procuring the best equipments for snacks. Mind you, snacks isn't our main focus, but you can see how far we are ready to go just to make you and your family happy.

We didn't just stop there, we went out of our way to search for and employ time tested best professionals in the bakery, snacks and ice cream field. Take for instance, we went looking for old Ndafia standard. You will only understand the Ndafia standard if like me, you are an Aba boy. As if that isn't enough, we went a step further, Chika Kalu that will handle our ice cream section, we brought him all the way from Gabon. He has over 20 years experience in that field. Don't just believe me, when we open visit and taste his banana, pineapple and other fruits ice cream and confess for yourself.
You see why we are planning to spread branches across the cities? We believe wherever you are, you and your family deserves the best.
While others focus on profit, we focus on your happiness, because the real profit of Service comes from the satisfaction of your customers. Once they're happy with your service they will tell others and your profits will come from the multiple multitude that will patronise you.

AFRIGEN VILLAGE KITCHEN:

RESTORING OUR PARENTS WAY OF HEALTHY FEEDING.

When it comes to food and nutrition science, the world should turn to Africa to learn the science of food combination and proper cooking. Not the other way round.

Unfortunately, Africans are busy spending their hard-earned money on exotic foods that end up damaging their health. The white man came here and condemned our foods as they introduced us to their imported chemicals, to enable us patronise and enrich their industries.

As a result, we abandon our very rich and highly healthy palm oil for imported groundnut and vegetable oils, replace our garri (cassava) with wheat, our amala with semolina and our morning boiled yam and unripe plantain with bread.

In a conference sometime last year when a ‘nutrition expert’ addressed a large crowd of medical personnel about the dangers of eating Yam. These people spread half truth thought them by the English people, who want us to abandon our own and continue to depend on their products.

He told them that yam is the major cause of diabetes in society and must be avoided by all people with diabetes and those prone to it. This is half truth.

The 'expert’ advised his listeners to replace yam with grains such as wheat, millet and semolina. Processed foods that are far unhealthy than yam.

The truth, however, is that yam is healthier than wheat, semolina rice, millet and other grains, and people with diabetes need not avoid yam if they follow the correct instruction on how to cook yam.

Think about it, how is it that food that has served our forefathers very well for centuries and is a part of our culture suddenly became dangerous and toxic?

And how come the only alternative being recommended are food from other cultures that have to be imported? Surely, there is a foul play somewhere.

Yam has a lower glycaemic index, about 54% of glucose per 150-gram serving, much lower than the potato, rice and even millet.

The glycaemic index (GI) is a numerical system of measuring how much of a rise in circulating blood sugar a carbohydrate triggers–the higher the number, the greater the blood sugar response.

A low GI food will cause a small increase while a high GI food will trigger a dramatic spike.

The speed at which a carbohydrate is broken down into glucose determines whether it's "fast" or "slow."

Fast carbohydrates break down quickly and have a glycaemic index above 70 and a glycaemic load above 20.

The problem is not eating yam; the problem is the way you cook your yam and how you eat it.

Always cook your yam with the peels. Never peel your yam before cooking.

For those old enough to remember, you will recall that this was how our fathers and mothers used to cook their yam and even plantain.

They never peel the skin until after cooking. That's why at old age they are still active in meeting up their physical biological responsibility to their numerous wives. But today, with the white man's chemical destroying our system, we cannot me up responsibility with our wife, not wives.

If you peel yam before cooking, then the yam is likely to raise your sugar level because of its high carbohydrate and starch content.

But if you cook your yam with the peels, and peel it after cooking, what you have is already a balanced diet.

Yam peels are the most nutrient-rich part of yam. Do you think it is an accident that goats prefer to eat yam peels to eating the yam? Try it at home.

Keep yam peels on one side and yam on the other side- the goat will always rush to eat the peels. And, when they do, we laugh at them because we think they don't have brain to go for the main yam

They instinctively know that the peels are more abundant in micronutrients.

The most essential tool you need when it comes to proper nutrition and a healthy diet is not money; it is knowledge. Knowledge is power!

That's why AfriGen Village Kitchen is at your doorpost. We want you to be just few steps ahead to healthy feeding.
Remember Afrigen foods is deliciously afrikan.

A woman was mad with his husband, suspecting and accusing him of cheating.

The judge asked the woman...

Why are you accusing your husband?

What makes you think He is not faithful?

What evidence do you have against him?

The Woman answered " My husband comes back late at night.
I have told he visits one Village restaurant around 104 Aba-Owerri rd in Aba with some of his friends and their side chicks.
What else are they doing there? What do they side chicks have that I don't have?
What food do they cook there that is so special and I can't cook."

They judge then gave the husband a chance to defend himself.

The husband started laughing 😅 😅😅😆😅😆😆😆😅😆. He replied " My fellow Nigerians, I can never cheat my wife. I do go out with my colleagues after the day's work and eat what we rarely eat at home. It's not that our wives can't cook those meals. But Afrigen Village Kitchenge ur heritage. Their Ugba, Isi ewu, Abacha, Ofe, Asusu, Otoo is what you need to eat everyday. They preserve our heritage by preserving our traditional foods and providing them to us any time anywhere. I love my wife's food, but she can not compete Afrigen Village Kitchen. That's not part of her callings. It's Afrigen because their food taste deliciously Afrikan."
