Yesterday, my colleague and I played guest on the Morning Delight TV show which aired on the state-owned channel, Lagos Television (LTV), where we were interviewed on the topic ’Leadership traits among young people’.

After the program, we paid a visit to the Lagos State ministry of youth development to discuss avenues to develop the youth across board. We utilized the opportunity extend our appreciation to the Commissioner and the Director of youth development for their visit to members of the Parliament during the course of our leadership training which held at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Apapa (Sea School).

Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology hereby announce the commencement of the Ogun State Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel (OgunTEACh); a special intervention scheme designed by the Ministry, the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to fill the existing vacancies in the Public Primary / Secondary Schools and Technical Colleges in the State.

Interested applicants should possess:
1. NCE (with minimum of merit in the teaching subjects)
2. B. A. (Ed)/BSc (Ed)/B.Ed. with minimum of second class lower division in the teaching subjects), while those with B.A/B.Sc in any of the primary/secondary school subjects must possess Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from reputable Universities or Professional Diploma in Education, in addition.
3. B.Tech(Ed)/B.Sc(Ed)(Tech)/B.Eng./B.Tech/BSc/HND with specialisation in subjects offered in Technical Colleges (for Technical Colleges only)

Applicants are expected to apply/register through the OgunTEACh portal by logging into ogsera.ogunstate.gov.ng/ogun_teach. The period of Online Registration shall be between Wednesday 22nd November and Saturday, 9th Dec, 2023.

Successful applicants to be known as OgunTEACh interns shall be deployed to Local Government Areas in dire need of their services and will be given a stipend on monthly basis for a period of two years after which they will be-assessed on parameters ranging from expertise, commitment to duty, punctuality, respect for constituted authority and willingness to work wherever they are posted to, among others. Outstanding OgunTEACh Interns may be considered for full employment if and when such opportunity arises, after the expiration of their internship.

On the 31st of October, I was part of the delegation of the Nigerian Youth Parliament led by the Speaker, Hon. Dr Yishawu Azeezat, on a courtesy and congratulatory visit to the Honourable Minister for Youth, Dr Jamila Bio Ibrahim.

We utilised the opportunity to intimate the minister on the activities and endeavors of the Parliament, challenges faced, and the need to close the gaps between the ministry and the youth populace.

The minister in her response applauded the successes recorded thus far and promised to address the challenges encountered in facilitating appropriate development of the Nigerian Youth.

The 3MTT programme by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy will generate a pipeline of technical talent in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of creating 2 million digital jobs by 2025.

The 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, a critical part of the Renewed Hope agenda, is aimed at building Nigeria’s technical talent backbone to power our digital economy and position Nigeria as a net talent exporter. The first phase of the programme, executed in collaboration with NITDA, will involve multiple stakeholders including fellows, training providers, partners and placement organisations.
