JESUS CHRIST: THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE.
John 11:25-26
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

“Jesus said to her, ‘I have authority over death. I raise dead people, and I give people true life. Anyone who believes in me will live. Even if that person dies, he will continue to live.”

Christ Jesus is the one who resurrect the dead and the life of the resurrected. He is the life by which those who are resurrected should live. And those who live by faith in Christ shall never die. Do you believe this? You must believe this unless you are saying that Jesus Christ is a liar.

Christ Jesus introduced Himself as the one who resurrects or quicken the spirit of man that was dead and the giver of the new life in the resurrected spirit of man.
The true effect of the fall was that the spirit of man became dead. Separated from the life of God. Became dysfunctional! Ephesians 2:1 “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;…”
“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,…” Ephesians 4:18
“Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:…”
Consequently fellowship with the one and only true God becomes impossible.

God is Spirit. Fellowship with God or worship must be in Spirit and truth. God own Spirit is alive. His Spirit alone can quicken the dead spirit of man.
For there to be fellowship, Man must come to God presence and live there and partake continuously of the tree of life.
But man cannot come to God as he is. He is a sinner. The evidence that man is a sinner is that he actually sins. He is Dead in sins and trespasses both the ones he has committed and the ones he is yet to commit.

So two things must happen to the man for spiritual fellowship with God and consequently Communion to continue.

The first thing is that the man’s sins must be forgiven. God is too holy to behold iniquity. The man who is smeared and dirty and unclean must be pardoned and washed totally of his filthiness. This can only be done by the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Hebrews 10:4
“For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.”
Hebrews 9:13-15
“For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.”

While the forgiveness of sins is a great step towards fellowship and communion, it is not the end of the work that must be done to the man to make him fit for fellowship and communion. The man spirit is still dead. That is, it is without the Life and Spirit of God. So God must yet quicken the spirit of man, for it to become conscious and alive. That is resurrection. But it goes further, the spirit of man thus resurrected is further infused with the Life and Spirit of God. The eternal life of God. The Zoe life of God. Hence Jesus Christ introduced Himself not only as the “Resurrection” but also as the “Life.” It is not enough to be resurrected, you must receive another life other than the life or spirit that was dead before and is now resurrected. This resurrected life is still the life of man or the man’s own spirit. But in addition to that, man must have in his spirit, the very Life and Spirit of God. And at this point man is moved from a three dimensional Being to a Four dimensional Being.

Everyone on earth was born a three dimensional being. He has a spirit, soul and body. The spirit in all human is dead to God, but alive to sin and the world, and also it is without the life of God. If a man remains in this state without encountering Jesus Christ of Nazareth, he will perish or be lost to God forever. But God doesn’t want this to happen to any man. Man is God’s own creation and God is fully interested and committed to recovering His creation. His love for His creation is still very active. This is the only reason He sent His only begotten Son, to seek and save all that are lost. John 3:16-18.

Hence Jesus Christ introduced Himself as the Resurrection and the Life. These two things He gives to those who are His sheep.
He is the Resurrection because the first need of mankind is resurrection, and this is because all are dead {“though he were dead”. Now all men born of Adam or by human beings are in this category, irrespective of Race, Tribe, Age, Religion, Social or Economic Status. But the promise is “yet shall he live:” This is If the man chose to believe in Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
But He went further to introduce Himself as “the Life:”“And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” This is Because the man who believes in Him has the Eternal Life of God in him. He can no longer be separated from God. He cannot perish eternally. He has the Life. Not only is the person resurrected, he also has life.

This is beyond the question of the immortality of the soul. It should be clear to all that the soul of all men is immortal. So even when the body dies, whether the man is born again or not, his soul will still be resurrected to face judgement. But this living forever is particularly for those who believe in Jesus Christ of Nazareth. They can never die eternally. They are saved for ever. Isaiah 53:10-12.

Now all souls are immortal. Whether believers or unbelievers. The body of all men also will die whether believers or unbelievers (excluding the people that will be alive during the rapture). The body is already aging and dying anyway.
The real question is how the man will live in his immortal soul in eternity, having shed his vile body. (The unregenerate will not get Christ glorious body) This is where he needs the eternal life of God. It is only the eternal life of God resident in his own human spirit that will keep him in union with God and cause him to abide the presence of God forever. The natural life in his immortal soul cannot stand in the presence of God, because it is a life contrary to and different from the life of God. Consequently This eternal life must be obtained here right now before death. After death, it is impossible to obtain eternal life. This eternal life can only be obtained and received by faith in Jesus Christ of Nazareth. No more, no less. No religion or practices or deeds of man can earn this eternal life, only believe in Jesus Christ of Nazareth as the only begotten Son of God can purchase for any man, this eternal life.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 10:27-30
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.”
The “shall never die” means the life of God will be in the spirit of believers forever. There is no possibility of his separation from God. It cannot be undone. God through the instrumentality of Christ Jesus has gained and recovered back His man, lost to Satan in the garden of Eden. The work of Satan has been destroyed. God shall crush Satan under your feet shortly! Amen 🙏🏾
