HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENâS DAY
Inspire Inclusion, do not further widen the inequality gap by introducing new inequalities, while providing âinclusive solutionsâ.
When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world.
And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.
Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women, where we Invest in women and accelerate their progress.
This is to every woman! We see you and we are rooting for you â¤ď¸
We happily welcome you into the beautiful month of March. May the month bring you blessings!
Happy Birthday, Kaycee Obi. Thank you so much for your commitment and passion for EduTrust Foundation. Here's to another year of growth, adventure and endless possibilities. We love you!
On 24th of January, the world celebrated International Day for Education, the theme for 2024 is âlearning for lasting peaceâ.
Edutrust foundation celebrated the day at Lola Cater Academy. The Academy is a free school for children from the IDP camp at Kuchingoro.
Education is a basic right that we all have a mutual responsibility of ensuring that it is accessible to all. It is a tool that can help us reduce most global issues, including poverty and inequality. Like the United Nation, Edutrust believes that education is a vital tool for peace and development. According to the United Nations, "Learning for peace must be a transformative process, enabling learners to gain essential knowledge, values, attitudes, skills, and behaviors, thereby empowering them to serve as catalysts for peace in their communities."
It is on this premise we celebrated with the children, encouraging them to embrace education, as it will give them the opportunity to not only learn subjects and skills, but equip them with the knowledge to chart their own paths and contribute positively to our nation.
We gifted them 100 indigenous story books because we believe in the power of stories in changing the world, writing materials, exercise books and lots of snacks.
We appeal to more stakeholders to join us in ensuring that every Nigerian child has access to basic education.
Be a Change Maker this day.
Happy International Day of Education!
Education should be at the heart of every peace efforts, it is our duty to enlighten learners and lay the foundations for inclusive, democratic and human-rights respecting societies.

EduTrust Personality of the week is KimberlĂŠ W. Crenshaw.
KimberlĂŠ W. Crenshaw is a pioneering scholar and writer on civil rights, critical race theory, Black feminist legal theory, and race, racism and the law. In addition to her position at Columbia Law School, she is a Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Crenshaw is known for introducing and developing intersectional theory, the study of how overlapping or intersecting social identities, particularly minority identities, relate to systems and structures of oppression, domination, or discrimination. Her work further expands to include intersectional feminism, which is a sub-category related to intersectional theory. Intersectional feminism examines the overlapping systems of oppression and discrimination that women face due to their ethnicity, sexuality, and economic background.
Crenshawâs groundbreaking work on intersectionality was influential in the drafting of the equality clause in the South African Constitution. She authored the background paper on race and gender discrimination for the United Nationsâ World Conference on Racism in 2001, served as the rapporteur for the conferenceâs expert group on gender and race discrimination, and coordinated NGO efforts to ensure the inclusion of gender in the WCAR Conference Declaration.
The IMPACT and Importance of STEM Education: Preparing Future Innovators
In todayâs rapidly evolving world, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) play a crucial role in shaping our societyâs future. STEM education provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in a world driven by technology and innovation.
The Four Pillars of STEM Education
A. SCIENCE
Scientific literacy is essential for understanding and making informed decisions about the world around us. It enables individuals to engage with scientific concepts, methods, and findings, fostering curiosity and critical thinking.
Encouraging curiosity and critical thinking in students allows them to explore and understand the natural world, ask questions, and develop a sense of wonder about the universe.
B. TECHNOLOGY
Technology has permeated every aspect of our lives, from communication to transportation, and continues to transform the way we live, work, and learn.
Preparing students for a tech-driven future involves teaching them how to adapt to new technologies and become proficient in using digital tools to solve problems, communicate, and create.
C. ENGINEERING
Engineering, as a discipline, emphasizes the importance of problem-solving skills. It involves designing, creating, and improving structures, systems, and products to address societal needs and challenges.
Fostering creativity and innovation in students through engineering projects enables them to think outside the box, collaborate, and develop solutions to real-world problems.
D. MATHEMATICS
Developing analytical skills and logical thinking is vital for success in STEM fields. Mathematics provides the foundation for understanding patterns, relationships, and abstract concepts.
Proficiency in mathematics is essential for grasping other STEM disciplines, as it is the language through which scientific and technical concepts are communicated.
Benefits of STEM Education
A. Cognitive development
STEM education helps students develop problem-solving skills by encouraging them to think critically, analyze data, and devise innovative solutions to complex problems.
By fostering creativity and critical thinking, STEM education equips students with the cognitive tools necessary to tackle challenges in their personal lives, careers, and society as a whole.
B. Career opportunities
As the global demand for STEM professionals continues to grow, there is an increasing need for skilled workers in various industries, such as healthcare, information technology, and renewable energy.
STEM education prepares students for high-paying jobs by providing them with the knowledge and skills required to excel in these competitive fields.
C. Economic impact
STEM is a driving force for innovation, fueling advancements in technology and scientific discoveries that improve our quality of life and economic prosperity.
To ensure the future workforce is well-prepared, it's important to invest in STEM education and provide equitable access to these opportunities for all students, regardless of their background or location. This can help bridge the skills gap and create a more prosperous future.
Dare to shine your light, even in the darkest of times. Embrace your inner radiance and share it with the world.

Our story
A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. In our case, it started with a stubborn idea. In July 2014, a few young men and women with very little more than a passion for excellence and the conviction that it was not enough to simply complain about the ills in our society, made a decision to do something to improve the situation of education in Nigeria.
That decision led them to consider our challenging reality and some opportunities hidden in that reality:
